Aloe Vera Acne Questions Answered

Nancy asks…
Is it safe to use aloe vera for acne every day?
I’ve heard about the benefits of aloe vera, and I’ve been using it on my face to try to help my skin heal faster.
I was wondering if there were any side effects, so I looked it up and apparently Aloe Latex can cause electrolyte loss, dehydration and possibly death.
Is Aloe Vera the same thing as Aloe Latex, and is it safe for daily use on your face?
Chloe Adisson answers:
Only the fresh aloe vera plant gel truly has medicinal properties like you are looking for. The store gels often contain unnatural substances that can be harmful.
As the other person said, buy a plant. They also sell the giant big leaves sometimes at meijers in the produce department one could use.
‘I know this next suggestion sounds odd, but look into urine therapy for acne.
I once read dozens of pages at a forum of people using it on their faces for acne with wonderful results. It was most amazing.
I do not remember where that forum was now but looking around here might have you learn ,more on this very effective formula. At first it is hard to do due to the yuk factor but it gets easier after the first few times.
In folk medicine in the south the moms use pee diapers on their and the babies skin for its healing properties and good effects on the skin.
Definitely look around here before dismissing.

The electrolyte imbalance is if it gives you a lot of diarrhea and usually this does not happen unless one is diabetic or has kidney disease and one takes by mouth and possible from a store gel product. Plus this is from drinking the juice not applying it to the skin.
The deaths came from injections of aloe not ingesting by mouth or putting on the skin. Also this would tend to be more from products not fresh aloe.
Http://www.enotalone.com/article/9193.html this site lists some of the side effects but says none are from putting it on the skin.
Remember that herbs are very safe generally..think of them as strong foods. One thinks nothing of smoking, drinking several cups of coffee a day, using lotions with mineral oils which leech all the vitamin E from your body, using all kinds of criminalized products from cleaners to shampoos to foods, they have no qualms about eating dangerous fast foods daily or junk foods and never ingesting a veggie other than fries etc and on and on, but ask things like will 4 cups of peppermint tea hurt me according to master healer Dr Richard Schulze who cured the incurables. He says they take the one good thing they are doing for the body and worry it might hurt them but do tons of things that actually do hurt them all the time.
I am sure it is going to be fine but do check in with that urine therapy and also use only fresh aloe as the gels etc have little to no effect really and often contain bad substances even if they say things on the labels like 99% pure aloe vera.
God only knows the effects of a lifetime of putting all these chemicals in shampoos, conditioners, soaps, lotions, perfumes, antibiotic wipes, and other things we use all the time without a thought actually do have on health. Some of these things have a list of chemicals a mile long..
Do you or anyone worry about the effects of a lifetime of daily use on stuff like that which is far, far more worrying than using a herb/plant. This plant was designed to be a healer and is so effective at healing radiation burns that the us government has stockpiled many plants in the event of a nuclear attack. Aloe is great. Store products are often not nor are they foods we eat daily without a thought.
If you develop severe diarrhea you can consider discontinuing or drinking more water and do not inject it and you should be fine. Best of luck, annie

Ruth asks…
Anyone know about aloe vera and acne?
I have acne and have read that aloe vera helps with that. Is it better to have a plant or buy gel? Where can I get a plant in Michigan? Are the plants expensive? Any and all info is appreciated related to acne and aloe vera. Thanks!
Chloe Adisson answers:
I had chicken pox and had it on my face pretty bad and I used the gel. It cleared up in about 4-6 months. Unfortunatley I purchased my gel at an expo that comes once a year and I got it about 6 years ago. Now I got a plant but never used the gel. The plant once cut open has gel inside. I think the plant may be better because it isn’t watered down with other preservatives. I’m not sure where u can purchase it. Ask someone if u know someone for a piece and grow it yourself.

Donna asks…
Can i wear aloe Vera over my acne medicine i wear at night called “Atralin tretinoin 0.05%”?
I am just wondering because I heard that Aloe Vera is really good for acne and helping with redness acne brings. But at night i have to wear tretinoin and I was wondering if I can wear aloe vera over tretinoin while i sleep.
Chloe Adisson answers:
Make sure you are using an aloe vera gel, or at least an aloe vera preparation that is non-comedogenic (does not block pores). The aloe shouldn’t interfere with the medication, but you could use aloe during the day instead. Another natural product that is very good for acne is tea tree oil, a natural antiseptic.

Linda asks…
How do i use an aloe vera plant for acne?
so i cut a leaf of the aloe vera plant and squeeze the gel out of it and put it on my acne. So what do i do with the rest of the leaf can i refrigerate it? How should i use the plant cut on it every time i need to use it for my face or cut a leaf n refrigerate it.help me please
Chloe Adisson answers:
You absolutely can refrigerate your cut parts and use them again. There is no expiration date for aloe, but keeping it refrigerated in a plastic bag will keep the gel inside from drying out. You can also cut it open and use the juice from the plant by rubbing it on the affected areas as well. It does help to conserve the plant, so that you don’t use too much of it and eventually kill it.

Mary asks…
How long does it take for aloe vera to clear up acne on your face and help make your skin better?
I have been using aloe vera on my face for about three days now because many people have used it to clear acne and help your skin and it has reduced my acne a little. I was wondering how long it takes until you see results on your skin? Thanks
Chloe Adisson answers:
Aloe Vera does not get rid of acne. Aloe Vera is used as an anti-inflammatory product. If you have inflamed acne (the big red ones) then you can use Aloe Vera to soothe them.
