Combat IBS With a Good Diet

Share

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a disease that is estimated to affect 15% of the population in the United States today. There are many IBS symptoms that can help to diagnose the disease, but there currently is no cure. The disease is one that can easily be misdiagnosed and often is mistaken for other diseases it shares its myriad of symptoms with. IBS is often accompanied with several other painful or dehibilitating medical conditions, which can also make its diagnosis a more difficult task. IBS symptoms can be treated in a number of ways and although IBS and IBS symptoms can be painful and inconvenient the disease is not thought to be deadly.

Reducing stress in your life, eating smaller meals, regular exercise such as walking or yoga, and adequate sleep improve this disorder. Increasing fiber in the diet and drinking more water is another way to help the situation. For some patients a natural remedy may be the only medication needed to help. For centuries natural remedies from and plants were used in Asia and Europe to treat nervous stomach and problems in the intestine.

While spastic colon is often used interchangeably with IBS, the two are not always identical. Spastic colon can sometimes be caused by a virus or the use of antibiotics. If this is the case, the condition is typically resolved within a matter of months. IBS-related spastic colon, however, tends to be long-term and requires some form of and lifestyle changes to alleviate the pain and discomfort.

Diets in whole grains, high in fiber, fruit, and low in fats provide some IBS sufferers ample IBS relief without the use of or prescription medication. Foods that contain caffeine, like coffee and chocolate, should be avoided by IBS sufferers because they can over stimulate the lining of their colons and produce excess bloating, gas, and cramps. Those prone to diarrhea may find an increase in this symptom after caffeine consumption. Caffeine is a stimulate and not good for promoting IBS relief. Also sufferers with allergies to any food ” in particular wheat, egg, and dairy, should limit or avoid foods containing these ingredients. These foods hinder IBS relief by aggravating the lining of the colon just as caffeine does. Alcohol should be avoided, as well.

IBS sufferers turn to laxatives or other over-the-counter medicines in hopes that the condition is temporary. But IBS is a chronic condition. Improper or excessive use of laxatives can cause further problems for those with IBS, sometimes causing the condition to change from constipation to diarrhea.

Bavolex’s natural ingredients work with the body to relieve IBS symptoms. Lemon balm helps to reduce indigestion and gas. Camomile helps to reduce stress and anxiety. Fennel seed helps to reduce intestinal spasms. Together with other soothing extracts, these ingredients form a highly effective weapon against spastic colon/IBS.

Herbal | Why Natural Herbal Or Homeopathic Remedies For Better Health?

Share

Natural remedies for better health is something most people have at least some interest. After all, who wouldn’t want to lead a healthier life free from many of the common ailments and conditions that plague society as a whole simply by taking a pill or liquid formula made from plant extracts or other natural ingredients.

You are probably asking yourself if natural remedies for better health are so good why don’t I hear more about them?

I can tell you that over ten years ago when my days in the natural health industry really began I was asking the same question, but not long after my arrival it became apparent that there were a lot of people doing their best to make sure natural herbal remedies were no more than a side note in medical journals.

But despite aggressive campaigns to marginalize natural remedies their popularity continued to grow, and continues to grow to this day. The main reason is they produce few if any side effects and are very effective when used as part of a comprehensive, well thought out plan!

The basic approach to all naturopathic medicines is to do no harm combined with, in natural health speak, a full spectrum approach. A full spectrum approach takes into account a person’s mental and physical needs and then utilizes all natural solutions to help the body cure the specific ailment or ailments from which it is suffering.

One of the more popular natural healthy approaches is homeopathy, which takes tiny amounts of diluted ingredients specially formulated to trigger a response. This approach seems to be particularly effective when applied to mental disorders such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and anxiety.

Let’s take a moment to look at one recent ADHD study to support our premise.

A recent two month study involving ADHD children produced these results: 57% of the children continued to improve despite discontinuing use; 24% relapsed by the time of the follow up; and 19% continued to show improvement but require continuing homeopathic support. An overall success rate of 79% is considered very effective for any medication whether it be natural, prescription, or over the counter.

Are natural herbal and homeopathic for everyone?

Certainly not! Even plant based remedies can interact with certain prescription medications. Before considering a natural alternative it is always a good idea to consult your doctor. They also don’t perform very well if you aren’t willing to do your part. For instance, if you were taking a natural herbal remedy for cholesterol and sat on the couch all day eating butted popcorn and smoking cigarettes you would not see any benefit. On the other hand you wouldn’t see much, if any, benefit from convention prescription medications either, and would be putting yourself at risk for a number of serious side effects along the way.

In summary, under the right set of circumstances natural herbal remedies for better health can be quite effective when used in conjunction with smart lifestyle choices. If you are considering a natural approach the best advice anyone can give you, once you get your doctors okay, is to monitor your results closely by keeping detailed log. If you fail to see results it is time to make a change. The bottom line, whether you are using prescription medications or natural herbal remedies for better health, only three things matter: safety, effectiveness, and side effects encountered. In fact, these three criteria are an excellent benchmark to apply to any product you are consuming to improve health and/or quality of life.

Herbs | Learning To Manage Blood Sugar Fluctuations

Share

Blood sugar fluctuations show a deep disturbance in your body. Important automatic processes are no longer working efficiently, if at all. If you don’t take appropriate action, you may be heading towards diabetes.

So consider this as a wake up call. If you act appropriately now, you can reverse the process entirely. The ball is in your court.

One of the key elements of diabetes, the road down which you may be travelling, is a low body pH. Your body is too acidic.

Diet places a huge role in your body pH. Foods which make you acidic is a diet high in processed food and/or animal protein. Foods which make you alkaline are fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds – all the plant based foods, which are whole, fresh and unprocessed.

Emotions also play a huge role in your body pH. Frequent bursts of anger, anxiety, fear and any other strong, unbalancing emotions, will instantly make you too acid.

These strong outbursts of emotion are less easily controlled than your diet, as they often have a deep root in your psyche. Normally they are based on your best survival strategies after an event that unsettled you, one that you couldn’t resolve.

These more frequently occur in childhood, when you are at your most vulnerable.

To help resolve your blood sugar fluctuations, your most successful approach needs to cover these two areas. You need to set about converting your diet to a more healthy one. Make sure you thoroughly enjoy the new changes, otherwise you may easily slip back into your old ways.

To help stabilise your emotions, the fastest and most efficient way is to consult with a homeopath. Homeopathy is a powerful, yet gentle form of natural and complete health care. It works by targeting the original cause and resolving that. Without you going through the painful process.

Homeopathy individualises you, your cause, your symptoms. Only then can you expect to get the natural healing that has the potential to reverse serious and chronic degenerative disease.

By using homeopathy for all your health concerns, you’ll be steadily but surely moving towards a very high level of health.

You can use topical medications that can moisturize your skin. Your doctor can prescribe you with steroid creams and ointments that can minimize the inflammation and the itchiness of the skin.

You can also try phototherapy. This kind of treatment utilizes ultraviolet light to speed up the healing process of the lesions. However, an expert should do this treatment because too much UVB or UVA light can cause further damage to our skin.

Internal medications can also be used to reduce the rapid cell maturity going on in our skin. This can also help relieve inflammation.

There is also no harm in trying herbal remedies out. Most topical creams contain one or two herbal remedies that can help soothe your skin. Here are some of the most popular ones:
