Diet Pills

Share

have been around for quite a long time. One of the things that many people doubt about diet is whether or not they are effective. Many times these companies pay people to say there their products are great, or people selling the products make up fake testimonials. Luckily, you can find that will provide you with the real results that you need.

Adipex are one of the best type of on the market. Unlike most which market themselves as helping you shed the pounds off of your body, Adipex works with your body in order to curb your natural appetite. You will not feel as if you want to eat as much, and will gradually help your body change the amount of food it needs in order to produce your daily energy.

are is another type of appetite suppressant, however, it is meant to only be used in the short term.

Many times, people use appetite suppressants for much too long and end up taking weeks to months in order to stop using them. In some cases, people may lose their appetite for years. Bontril does have some interesting side effects, including the possibility to become highly addictive. You may also experience an overdose if you are on Bontril, so you need to be careful and make sure that you are monitored while you are taking it.

Cortislim is a , different than many of the appetite suppressants which help your body need less nutrients in order to survive. Instead, Cortislim burns away the fat that your body has already stored. This allows you to lose weight, by still eating a normal amount of food. It is important that you continue to exercise during the period that you are on Cortislim.

This is because you are moving muscle and fat around, and you may feel extremely lethargic if you do not use the body materials around the fat that is being burned away.

Zantrex is another common fat blocking pill that is used by people who are trying to lose weight. While this product has not been on the market as long as some other products, it is just as effective at burning the fat away. Many people think that it is as dangerous as Ephedra. However, this is not true at all. In fact, Zantrex was developed as a safe alternative to using dangerous materials such as Ephedra for dieting purposes. Fat is only burned away at a safe rate for your body and there are very few side effects when compared to other diet pills.

When you are looking for a diet pill it is important that you consider all of your options. You can choose to use something like a fat burner, however, you are not guaranteed to lose any weight. Most fat burning products may take quite a while to help your body lose the weight that you want to lose. Instead, many people opt for appetite suppressants. These diet pills help your body feel less hungry, and assists you in eating less.

The 5 Kinds of Essential Oils

Share

There are a number of essentials oil related to the practice of aromatherapy, but some actually have a neutral scent. Let’s take a look at 5 of the best oils, where they come from, their properties and healing benefits.

Oil:

Aloe Vera is used in such a wide variety of applications and is medically proven to be beneficial for a number of ailments. For most of us, Aloe Vera is used as a hand cream or rubbing oil, but in Asia there is a strong culinary culture around the Aloe plant too. Many people will grow one at home to make desserts from, and Aloe pieces in Yoghurt is quite natural. Slowly these are being introduced into the western world. Oil of Aloe Vera however is in fact the juice of a blended Aloe stem mixed with soy oil, and is entirely neutral in scent. Because Aloe is a natural product, the resulting juice also has an expiration date, as does the oil made from it. Aloe is used to detoxify and relax the skin, and is particular useful during the winter months when skin tends to dry with the low humidity, as it helps to regulate the skins natural water content.

Common Wormwood Oil:

Made from olive oil and the yellow flowers of common wormwood, this deep red oil smells sweet and unique. It is known to stimulate the digestive system, disinfect, and reinforce the immuno-defensive system of the body. However, in large doses it will make skin sensitive to light.

Jojoba Oil:

….is not actually an oil at all. Obtained by cold pressing the fruit of the plant, Jojoba oil is a liquid wax with no scent. Containing lots of vitamins and minerals, it is anti-allergenic and great for the skin. It serves well as a single base carrier oil for other scents / perfumes.

:

Again, obtained by cold pressing the fruits, it has a nice nutty smell to it. Filled with unsaturated fats, the body absorbs it easily, with regenerative properties that give your skin a slight shine. You will literally glow. Excellent for when skin ages somewhat to keep it looking young and healthy.

Sweet Almond Nut Oil:

A favourite for many generations, obtained by twice-pressing sweet almonds, it has a very strong nut smell. Like Macadamia oil, it is full of easy to absorb unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins – just what the skin needs and appropriate for almost any skin type.

Aloe Vera Gel For Acne Questions Answered

Share

William asks…

gel for acne?

I have been recommended to use aloe vera gel to treat my acne. I’ve decided to find out how to use aloe vera gel for my acne and the results of it before buying aloe vera gel. Have anyone tried using aloe vera gel to treat her acne? Can you please share with me how you applied the aloe vera gel? Do you wash it off in the morning after you apply it at night or do you have other ways of applying it? Thanks! :D

:

6 things must be done EVERYDAY to reduce/prevent acne: 1)Wash, Tone, Moisturize Face 2 or 3 Times 2)Don’t Let Dirty Things Touch Face 3)Eat Healthy Food, Limit Junk Food 4)Take Multi Vitamin Mineral 5)Drink About 64 oz Pure Water 6)Do 20 to 30 Min Aerobic Exercise. Doing 1 or a few of these will NOT keep skin clear as possible!

Use 3 things on face: Wash, Toner, Moisturizer. Do this at least 2x a day, morning & night (possibly 3rd time, midday, if super oily/sweating). Products that work for one person may not work for another person, so always do small patch test on face for a couple of days to see how skin will react to product! Don’t quickly jump from product to product! Give skin a break before trying new product to prevent irritation! Natural & gentle products are sometimes more effective than acne medicine!

NATURAL & GENTLE: Wash face with warm water & Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar by Johnson & Johnson. Tone face with Witch Hazel (Thayers or Dickinson’s) or Homemade Toner. Witch Hazel reduces bacteria/swelling, minimizes pores, helps acne. Make toner by mixing 1 part With The Mother (Try Bragg) with 5 parts pure water. Test small area! If burns/to drying, use more water! Use at least 1 part water! Less Water = Stronger, More Drying Formula. This vinegar kills bacteria, absorbs excess oil, dries out pimples, lightens scars, refines skin tone. Don’t use other types of vinegar, will not work! Moisturize face with Lily Of The Desert Aloe Vera Gelly, its 99% organic, contains vitamin A, C, E! Aloe vera helps renew skin cells, heals blemishes/scars. Don’t use other brands of aloe, has very little aloe & to much junk in it which can irritate skin!

ACNE MEDICINE: Try 1 of these active ingredients for a period of time to see if skin improves: Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Sulfur, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid. Try acids by Perfect Peel Solutions, Cellbone Technology, Skin Laboratory, Alpha Hydrox/Neoteric Cosmetics. Acid heals acne, cyst, scars! If over the counter stuff doesn’t work, see doctor to get stronger medicine.

FACE PRODUCTS & MAKEUP: Only use oil free products that won’t clog pores & cause acne! Try Revlon ColorStay Combination/Oily Skin Foundation. Using a Makeup Setting Spray (Skindinavia, Model In A Bottle, Urban Decay, Sephora) will give you shine-free skin all day! Old makeup, makeup tools harbor bacteria, Use fresh makeup, wash/replace tools often! Wash makeup off face before going to bed!

FACE MASK can be done once a week. Make mask by mixing plain oatmeal with water. Oatmeal is soothing, absorbs excess oil, makes skin smoother. Wash face with warm water, apply mask. Leave on for 30 min. Rinse off with warm water, Apply toner & moisturizer.

HANDS-HAIR-STUFF: Keep dirt & bacteria at bay to prevent breakouts! Don’t touch face with hands, Don’t let phone nor dirty oily hair touch face, Don’t lean face on objects, Clean glasses often, Wash pillowcase, sheets, blanket, washcloth, towel often. Always wash hands before applying face products!

KEEP MOVING: Aerobic Exercise, Face Massage, Dry Skin Brushing increases circulation & delivery of nutrients to skin cells, encourages good blood supply, helps remove toxins, controls acne breakouts! Do 20to30 min of exercise, everyday or every other day! For outstanding results, do all 3 activities, everyday! When exercising, drink water & immediately take a shower to remove sweat & dirt! For face massage, wash hands & face, apply toner, use aloe vera as massage gel. Do 10 min massage before going to bed. Don’t wash face again, let aloe dry on face. Buy any book on face massage (Ten Minute Facelift by Jennie Harding). Dry Skin Brushing must be done correctly & carefully, read book, Dr. Berkowsky’s Vital Chi Skin Brushing System by Bruce Berkowsky! Never brush delicate face! Take shower after brushing to wash off dead skin & dirt!

& LIFESTYLE: Research has shown that there is a connection between certain of food & acne! Read book The by Alan C. Logan & Valori Treloar! This book has detailed info on what to eat and not to eat to help reduce/prevent acne! Always eat healthy food – fruit, vegetables, lean meat, fiber, beans, wholegrains, foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids, zinc, vitamin A & C. Limit intake of frozen meals, dairy, milk, fat, oil, butter, greasy/fried foods, sugar, candy, salt, dessert, caffeine, coffee, pop, alcohol. Always avoid cigarettes, tobacco, illegal drugs! Its hard to get all needs, so take supplement everyday! Overdosing on vitamins minerals from food or supplements is dangerous! Drinking about 64 oz of pure water everyday improves skin quality, flushes out toxins, delivers nutrients to skin! You can also include 100% Fruit Juice as part of your daily total. Acne can be caused or aggravated by constipation, make sure bow movements are regular! Getting enough sleep helps skin repair itself!

Helen asks…

and acne?

Ok so i bought a moisturizing aloe vera facial gel that’s 98% Aloe Vera. I have some acne that i’m currently using medication from the doctor for. I want to use the aloe vera gel to help get rid of some of the scars and as a moisturizer seeing how dry the medication makes my skin. I’m just wondering if it will cause anymore acne?

Chloe Adisson answers:

The aloe vera will just dry out ur skin and acne!

James asks…

?

On the back of the bottle it say “aloe Vera gel cools and soothes minor skin irritations, abrasions, and sunburns. This blend of Aloe Vera Gel helps restore moisture to damaged skin and helps prevent drying and peeling. Great for softening and nourishing skin year round.” Can i use this for my acne? If i can how would? like how often and all that? on the front it just says ” Aloe Vera Gel, moisturizes and soothes dry, sun damaged skin” don’t no if that helps or not but please help!

Chloe Adisson answers:

It’s great for acne if you’re not allergic to it. Most people aren’t – it’s an ingredient in most products. If you’re allergic to onions, garlic, or tulips, that would be an indicator of an aloe vera allergy.
As for application, apply just enough so your skin feels moist, use morning and night as with any other moisturizer.

Sandra asks…

aloe vera gel for acne?

hey i have heard that aloe vera gel is great for acne but im not sure if i should buy the product or not.
does it reduce redness and marks? i have mild acne but does it make the acne worse? like more pimples?
thanks!

Chloe Adisson answers:

Don’t put it specifically on pimples. If you have one that you picked at and its dry and flaky, it seems to work pretty ok at helping that. Putting it directly on festering pimples would make them worse. Or it did for me, anyways.

Laura asks…

aloe Vera gel for acne/acne scars?

i just need a simple answer don’t tell me about some other product that works great all i want to know is does aloe vera gel work on acne and acne scars? and if a constantly use it will it lessen the amount of acne?
p.s i use the real plant gel

Chloe Adisson answers:

Aloe vera pulp is good for digestive organs & as well as it retains the moisture of the skin .If you are asking about prevention of acne by using it alone , My answer probably may be or not . Acne problem is due to hormonal imbalance & disturb immune system of the body.
Aloe vera alone can not can improve both of the above.
As you have restricted to answer more other than aloe vera.So I finish here.

Detoxify Or Die Questions Answered

Share

Betty asks…

What’s the deal with the ?

It seems like everyone attacks dieting with lectures on anorexia and bulimia. I just read about someone wanting to reduce their caloric intake to between 300-400 calories a day and she only got one actual answer, the rest were comments “You’re going to die.” Granted, the question seemed extreme, and there was more desperation behind it than anything else…but if you consider the alternative…obesity is just as deadly. Atherosclerosis, Myocardial Infarction, Diabetes..and the list goes on and on. Overeating is just as serious, if not worse. Then, when you consider the countless websites that talk about “fasting” for 30 days on WATER ALONE for weight loss and body detoxification, how can you justify what’s healthy and what’s not? Starving yourself for thirty days is acceptable if you’re doing it to detoxify your body…but cutting your caloric intake down is anorexic? It was my understanding that your body had three sources of energy…glucose, glucagon, and fat. Once your body is starved of glucose and glucagon, it turns to its fat store, and you lose weight. EVENTUALLY, your body will eat away at its muscles, but not before the fat..Someone please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m not anorexic or bulimic, nor do I approve of such behaviors. I just see people seeking being shunned for it. I’m just trying to understand why.
I’m not looking for dieting advice either. I don’t have a weight problem.

:

Haha. You sound really really educated about this kind of stuff.

I think people are being criticiced for seeking advice because in my expierence with Yahoo Answers alot of the people are Underweight already and still they want to lose more weight. When you thing about it there are 11 and 12 year olds on this site wanting to know if the Master Cleanse or drinking grapefruit juice all day will help them lose weight.

And usually people are not shunned for asking for diet advice when they actually need it. Like if there overweight or obese, buy yeah that happens a lot. People tend to lecture people on stuff like that because it’s preventable. Just like obesity is, however there are more questions that pertain more to low weight.

Just my opinion :]
And yes, I agree with everything you said.

Donald asks…

Who would do this?

By Detoxing and Rejuvenating your Mind, Body and Spirit,

1. You allow yourself to heal from any toxins that have been held inside your body,
2. You allow your Mind to release any harsh feelings or Sad emotions,
3. You allow your Spirit to become open and free. Once you ahve Detoxified and Rejuvenated your Mind Body and Spirit,
4. You can finally Allow yourself to enjoy real Homeostasis.

(Homeostasis: Optimal Well being, Optimal Health, At a point in your life when all is ok, and righht with you Physically, Mentally, Emotionall, and Spiritually.)

Stress can make any disorder worse. May it be Mental Emotional or physical. Stress is when you worry way too much about things that can be fix with a little effort on your own personal part.
Stress has been proven to cause serious health risks, such as heart disease, Endurance Problems, Fatigue, Emotional Imbalances, etc.
There are options to dealing stress and weight loss. Such as Detox plans and rejuvenation Plans, as the one I have enclosed.

I definitely stress that you consult your physician, about anything new or changes in your daily regimine. As this plan will affect other areas of your Daily living and Medications.

Please feel free to Copy and Print this to your own Blank Text and save it and print it out when you go to your DR again.

————————————————————————————-
One month detox and rejuvenation plan

STEP ONE: Detox: (week one)

a), Drink lots of water

b) lay off the sodas, beer, tea, coffee, etc

c) Basically go on a water fast(drink water only and no food), for 7days consecutively.

d)for even more detoxifying effects, maybe sit in a Sauna for about 20-30 minutes, twice during your 7day detox(once when during day two and once during day four), allowing your pores to open up and allow the toxins to come out.

STEP TWO: Rejuvenate (Goes hand in hand with step one, done during the entire month and future days) (If you are under the age of 18 with a proper ID, You have to be accompanied by a parent to any Spa or Massage Clinic.)

a) Go to a spa, and enjoy a nice warm Mud Bath or a Bodywrap, Then a two hour Massage, starting with ROM Assessment/Joint therapy, to relieve any joint stress or tension,

b) Then a Little Myofascial Stretching to give the skin and muscle a nice warming stretch,

c) Then a slightly Vigorus Swedish to relax the muscles,

d) Then a Little acupressure to relieve any trigger points,

e) Then ending a soft Swedish to really relax those muscles.

f) Then maybe get a nice salt scrub to really open your pores, and soften the skin.

g) Then take a nice warm shower, rinse away any toxin that may have come to the surface, and excess oils from the salt scrub.

h) Then rinse with cold water to tighten the pores and waken the bodys energies and chakras.

i) Find a reiki practioner and get a session to help restart your chakras as you may have a few that need a boost.

STEP THREE: Exercise, (can be done during step one and two, and is incorporated into our lives forever til we die)

Try a Tai chi Class, Yoga, Pilates, Aerobics, or Jazzercise, Maybe take up swimming, or Ballrom Dancing.

STEP FOUR: Eat Proper ( this starts during week two and continues into our everyday lives) (with fewer/healthier meals/snacks for thinner people), and (Smaller portions But more often/healthier meals/snacks with heavier people)

STEP FIVE:Plan yourself a Healthy But including and starting with: (this is just a recommended plan Not set in stone if you know what I mean.)

BREAKFAST:
Minimum of 8oz glass of water at room temp each morning,
Followed by a 8oz glass of Freshly juiced Organic Fruit juice, 3 Apples, 2 slices of pineapple, 1 pear, and four carrots, this will give your body a Natural energetic boost.

SNACKS include:

eat a with vinegar and Oil dressing, Not Italian or any thing with dairy. Follow it with a warm Turkey or Chicken breast sandwich (skinless, and as little fat as possible if any all. Try to avoid any heavy meats Like beef or pork during the early moring or lunch times. Follow the sandwich with some watermelon or strawberries, or some kind of fresh fruit salad if you are a still hungry or just want a nice desert. Watermelon or any type of Melon will help to fill you up faster.
Drink water at a couple of degrees cooler than room tempurature.

DINNER:
start with a salad with tomatoes, leafy lettuce, radishes, carrot slivers, Almonds, Sunflower seed Kernals, and Spinach, again with a vinegarette, instead of salad dressing. Followed by Either a baked or broiled Poultry or Fish Dinner fresh of course, no frozen crap. No Fried, Minimal If you want Butter try to get Organic or some sort of spread that has low carb and transfat count., Or just stay away from Butter all together, But use lemon at your own choosing, fresh pepper(s), No salt, fresh Green beans , Organic Whole wheat bread, Whole grain Pastas if you prefer. Organic Rice.

Anything and everything Organic

Stay away from Refined sugars(candy, or anything non organic

If anything at all try to eat as organic as you can possibly eat. IF you read a lables Ingrediants list, and you can’t pronounce the words then it is toxic for your Body, and Mind, and

Chloe Adisson answers:

Good idea but…. I love to eat and coul not get past the water fast

Laura asks…

When did people start using the word “toxin” to refer to waste?

When I was in middle school, “toxin” meant something that could reliably be used by an animal, in small doses, to kill another animal. Or otherwise something that was fatal in small doses. “Toxic”, too, had an implied lethality.

Now, it means any substance that can cause discomfort. Also, when people talk about using diuretics such as tea to flush waste from the body, people say they are “detoxifying” and “flushing toxins” from their bodies.

The way other people use that word and the way I use the word are incompatible, since if there were enough toxins in your body for a cup of green tea to have a noticeable effect on their level, you would be long since dead and should probably be walled off so that other people don’t touch you and die as well.

So when exactly did this change?

Chloe Adisson answers:

At least in the UK, it seems to have started in the early 1990s.

I had a look in NewsBank (the UK and archive), and until around 1992 there were several dozen hits in papers a year, all using it in the trad scientific sense. Then over about a decade it creeps up to 2000+ hits, either using it to refer to general pollutants or (mostly) the fictitious poisons that “detoxifying” is alleged to remove.

Richard asks…

Wouldn’t it be great if a kind of penicillin for mental health were developed?

In physical health, before antibiotics, people with infections had to rely on their immune systems to fight certain diseases. Many times nature didn’t do such a good job, and people got really sick or died. But now that we have antibiotics, you just take a pill for a few days, and you’re totally cured. Modern medicine has done better than the body’s natural disease-fighting abilities.

In mental health, we’re not so advanced yet. People with “infections,” in the form of , suffer for years or lifetimes – depression, OCD, addictions, even suicide. The cures are still relatively primitive. Talk therapy can take a long time to resolve problems. Medications like antidepressants control the symptoms, but they don’t really cure the underlying emotional issues.

Wouldn’t it be great if someone developed a way to quickly detoxify the brain? I’ve imagined that if someone could study brain waves of what happens in therapy, and then stimulate the brain in the same way, maybe people could have quick and lasting relief from their emotional problems. Nowadays some doctors do use electroconvulsive therapy, but that’s sort of like hitting the reset button on a computer, and the problems can come back. I wish there was a more controlled, painless way to free people from painful emotional conditions for good.

Chloe Adisson answers:

Were working on it.

Jenny asks…

Should I start smoking pot again?

PLEASE READ BEFORE ANSWERING!

I’ll try to make it short and sweet. PLEASE HELP!

Any ways. I’ve always had problems socially. I never really fit in due to my awkward personality and horrible social graces. I just had a disposition people didn’t like as a young girl. Growing up I had friends but being so problematic we parted ways or we’d just stop talking. I started smoking pot when I was 15, roughly a month before my 16th birthday (I am 21 now) and at first it made me a giggling, happy, social butterfly and I enjoyed it alot. But later on it started making me paranoid and giving me anxiety and it made me think of death and just became a scary , unenjoyable thing. It made me paranoid about people and very self-conscious about how I looked. But for some reason I kept doing it. It came to a point where I could only smoke pot alone because around other people I couldn’t enjoy myself cause my anxiety would go out of control. Alone I didn’t get too anxious but I still felt some anxiety there. It gave me horrible anxiety, I’ve ALWAYS had anxiety, but I feel pot amplified it. The reason I would keep smoking pot is because I wanted it to be the way it was when I first started and I thought maybe I’m just going through a phase with it and eventually I’ll start enjoying it again, and once in a blue moon it would give me that good feeling so I was willing to roll the dice and smoke pot just to possibly get that feeling again….

Long story short. I am a loner with no social skills. I dont know where I went wrong to end up like that but I feel the pot didn’t help and got my anxiety out of whack.

I want to work on becoming social and less of a neurotic anxious freak. I quit smoking pot but i’m thinking, the weed already did its damage… What good will it do to stop now?

If I keep off weed will I detoxify? Will all those weird paranoid thoughts I have unravel and will my brain go back to normal?

Will quiting really help me become more “normal?”

Chloe Adisson answers:

Well, you shouldn’t smoke pot in the first place. It only gives you a false sense that you’re happy and okay and that your life isn’t like it really is. Quit smoking it. Maybe if you start joining more clubs and really, really, trying to socialize, you might feel it lot better. Good luck!

Aloe Vera Juice Questions Answered

Share

David asks…

What step should I apply juice to my natural hair?

I have natural 4b/c hair. When should I apply aloe vera juice to my hair?
I normally co-wash then apply care free curl gold, then seal with extra virgin olive oil. I may go back to using shea butter after the oil.

But when does the aloe juice come into play?

:

I apply aloe vera juice to my hair, but not alone. The aloe vera juice is really moisturizing, and it lowers the ph of your hair. The mix that i usually use is a leave in (usually Kinky Curly Knot Today), aloe vera juice, jojoba oil, and castor oil. I got this mix from KimmayTube on YouTube – she’s a natural who worked for a while to come up with this mixture. I use it as a leave in after washing, and i tweak it to use it as a daily moisturizer sometimes too. You can tweak it to your liking, but the addition of the aloe vera juice does WONDERS for the hair. Hope this helps!

Laura asks…

What are the benefits of ALOE VERA JUICE if you put it in your horses grain as a supplement?

I have a 10 year old thoroughbred gelding that is very high strung. And I heard that Aloe Vera Juice is a good thing to put in horses grain that are like that. (He is an ex-race horse and is prone to ulcers.)

So what are the benefits of putting Aloe Vera Juice in your horses grain as a supplement?

How much Aloe Vera Juice should I put in his grain every morning?

Thank you for answering!!!! =]

Chloe Adisson answers:

Although I haven’t ever tried it with my horses, I have heard that Aloe Vera mixes can increase stamina and energy. But I have also heard that it can help joints (especially since it has anti inflammitory properties), kill some of viruses, bacteria, and fungi, increase blood flow, and decrease thh risk of ulcers due to stress.

Most of the Aloe Vera products I have seen for equines are in a mixed form, never just out of the plant, probably for a few reasons:
1) You might need a larger quantity on the long term than what is easily available in a single plant.
2) The properties of aloe vera alone could be enhanced with other minerals and supplements; thus it is convienently placed in a mixed form.
3) It smells horrible and your horse might not eat it without it being ‘disguised’. If I were a horse, I wouldn’t eat it.

Just three ideas as to why when people add aloe vera to their horses it is not in its raw form. As always, I would consult a knowledgeable veterinarian! Hope this helps!

Susan asks…

What are the benefits of drinking aloe vera juice?

Is it safe to drink aloe vera juice in any form if I have been diagnosed with divertivular disease?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Yes completely safe………It is healing to all internal organs.
Also improves skin….It helps to cleanse….good for heart
They sell in Health Stores…buy pure juice or jel …I like the jel
seems more economical and mix it with juiced fruit and veg.
It has the thicker consistance of pediolite, so is hard to drink by itself.

Mark asks…

How much aloe vera juice should I drink each day?

I just bought aloe vera juice as a dietary supplement and I was wondering how much I should drink each day. Any other dietary supplements that people suggest would be helpful too, thanks!

Chloe Adisson answers:

Are you taking it for any specific condition (e.g. Constipation), or just for general wellness?

For constipation, I would recommend starting with 1/4 cup 2-3 times per day. You can adjust from there depending on how your body reacts.

As a wellness supplement, would recommend 2 Tbsp 1x/day.

Charles asks…

How do you make plane Aloe Vera Juice?

I have some Aloe Vera Plants in the back garden.
I am intrested in the Aloe vera juice you get from the supermarket.
I was wondering if you can make some nice but just plain Aloe vera juice.
Giving 10 points to the best answer.
The plants have been their for 12 or so years.
Not sure if they are too old to make juice?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Get fresh leaves (or what you’d call them), and remove the green, outer “peel” (again, for lack of a better word).

Blend the moist center, and add flavour if you like.

Detoxify Your Body Questions Answered

Share

Sharon asks…

What is a good way to cheaply detoxify your body?

A lot of health stores sell liver cleansing and colon cleaning regiments…. but is there a cheaper way of detoxifying your body?

:

Try a 1-3 day juice fast, drink only unsweetened natural fruit and vegetable juices along with plenty of water. Add a little salt especially if you are sweating a lot. Moderate exercise is ok but don’t overexert yourself.

If you feel like you need extra colon cleansing then include prune juice, but be prepared to spend a lot of time in the bathroom getting “cleansed” :)

George asks…

How do you detoxify your body at home?

How do you free your body of all toxins and poisons at home? Does drinking nothing but water and sitting in a sauna do it?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Karl, it sounds like you have fallen victim to dodgy marketing in dodgy ‘natural health’ magazines or websites. There is a good reason why this stuff is only promoted by non-medical sources – because its mostly baloney.

‘Detox’ has no meaning outside of the clinical treatment of drug addiction or poisoning. Our bodies have evolved to get rid of unwanted substances very efficiently via the liver and kidneys; this function is not something you can improve upon with alternative medicine products, special diets, fasting or saunas. There is no plausibility or evidence to support the claims of alt med ‘detox’ proponents. If you truly have poisonous levels of toxins accumulated in your body, then you would be extremely ill and need a hospital.

At the end of the day, ‘detox’ as promoted in alternative medicine, is both a fad and a scam. Just because you may see ‘detox’ products in pharmacies it doesn’t mean they are valid; pharmacy chains in general don’t care, they are after profits.

Lizzie asks…

What is the safest way to clean/detoxify your body?

I’ve seen infomercials for system cleanses and I was wondering if anybody knows how you can clean out your body/digestive tract naturally? If not, then what is the best way to do it?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Just do a plain non fat yogurt and water for a couple days thats wat i do to cleanse when i am not feeling too good or need to drop a couple pounds but i dont know how good it cleans the digestive track

James asks…

How do those foot detox pads work? And do they actually detoxify your body of harmful stuff?

What is that black junk that appears on the foot pads after wearing them overnight? Is that just dirt from the bottom of your feet or is it some chemical reaction that appears on the surface of the pad so it appears as if it came from your body?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Its junk. The reason they turn black is becuase a mixture of vingar and salts are inside of them and it reacts to the oils in your body.

They are a waste of money, look them up on MSN webpage, they did a study of them.

Maria asks…

Is niacin plus a lot of Water and Cranberry Juice enough to Detoxify your body?

If I start taking 100 mg(or a higher doesage) of niacin plus start drinking ALOT of Cranberry jucie and water for around 1 week enough to cleanse your body of THC. I AM trying to pass drug tests but I have approxiamtley 1 week or more before i am tested.

Chloe Adisson answers:

No, it will not help to clean THC out of your system and aside from the water, that’s not going to detox at all.
Niacin is a simple B vitamin that gives a “flushing effect” to your skin… Not to your body. It makes your skin turn red (it makes your skin flush) because it helps with circulation. It won’t burn your intestines (unless you’re highly allergic to it), especially in that low of a dose… But it might turn your skin bright red.
Cranberry juice just helps to make your urine a bit more acidic so it can help to cleanse out a Urinary Tract Infection… It doesn’t specifically detox your body.

Detoxify Liver Questions Answered

Share

Ken asks…

Detoxify Liver?

What is a reasonably good way to detoxify my liver? I feel I have some questionable symptoms (chronic rashes, sinus infections, breakouts, fatique, strange food reaction, strange taste in my mouth all the time) that may mean I need to take care of my liver (?) Anyone know a way I can do that?

:

I don’t see any way in which these very vague symptoms could be related to liver disease. Perhaps you became scared after reading something about liver detox? Sorry, but there simply is no justification for detoxification.

Chris asks…

How does the liver detoxify blood and maintain glucose balance?

Chloe Adisson answers:

The liver takes toxins that our body makes or that
come into the body and converts them to a non
toxic form that the body can easily dispose of.

Let take alcohol, as an example.
The liver usings it’s cells enzymes, will convert
alcohol first into acetaldehyde, then into acetate,
and then into CO2 and water.

What happens when a person consumes too much
alcohol, the liver cannot convert it fast enough pass
the first stage and it becomes toxic to the liver cells
and can cause damage to them.
This is an example of a possible toxin coming into
the body.

Now for an example of a toxin made in the body.
When we use proteins in our body, a byproduct is
formed. That is ammonia. The liver would normally
take this ammonia and convert it in urea for the kidneys
to pick up and remove it from the body in the urine.
People who have liver disease where the cells of the
liver have died off, this function doesn’t happen
efficiently and so the ammonia stays in the blood and
goes into the brain and causes confusion and disorientation.

So, you can see that the liver handles toxins in the body.
…..
When we eat, the foods are broken down into fats,
carbohydrates, and proteins (amino acids). These
are absorbed into the blood from the intestines and
go to the liver. Our cells use glucose as its main
source of energy. So, the liver will supply this
glucose to the body, even by converting the carbohydrates
first, the proteins second and the fats third into glucose.
If the cells have enough energy, the liver will then convert
the glucose into glycogen and be stored in the liver till
it is needed. It is converted back to glucose when the
cells need more energy (usually between meals)

.

Mark asks…

Im in the Uk what type of Milk thistle would you recommend to detoxify liver and support bile production? The?

ones from the supermarkets dont contain enough of the active ingredient.
thanks

Chloe Adisson answers:

Total poppycock. The liver is the organ that deals with toxins, you cannot detoxify it! Unfortunately the whole concept of detox is an urban myth. It is based solely on the irrational rants of constipated Edwardians who refused to eat vegetables as the considered them food only fit for the lower classes to consume. As a result they had little option but to spend their time taking laxatives and purgatives and giving themselves enemas. Provided you have not already done too much damage to your body, your liver and kidneys will deal with problem of removing toxins from your body, as that was what they were designed to do. After that, tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life and you can start afresh.

Steven asks…

What is the best way to detoxify ones liver? And what are the benefits?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Dandelion tea works wonders on a sluggish liver (the primary filtering organ of the body), gall bladder (which produces bile to assist the digestion of fatty foods) and spleen ( an organ producing new red blood cels), and it also encourages bowel action and reduces fluid retention. Drinking Dandelion tea is one of the most effective ways to detox your body, because it stimulates digestive enzymes and bile to allow the easier metabolism of fatty foods.

Dandelion leaves, alfalfa, aspargus, celery and vitamin B6 can all work as natural diuretics.

Dandelion tea is excellent for ridding the body of excess fluid because, as the tea leaves contain high amounts of potassium, the body is not depleted of this important mineral through the diuretic effect of the tea?

Ensure, for therapeutic purposes, that you buy organic Dandelion leaf as the commercial or teabag varieties have had so much of their pulverised from them. Another reason to use organic is one of the properties of the Dandelion plant is to absorb metal pollutants from the atmosphere ~ as such organic really is . Add honey to taste if you like as the taste can be quite bitter ….. Or lemons or limes if you like the tartness?;

2 – 3 teaspoons per teapot would be sufficient?By buying the organic variety, the essential oils are still so potent that the spent leaves could be reused 2 – 3 times ~ simply refill the pot with hot water and rebrew for 15 – 20 minutes.?

Limit your intake of Dandelion tea to a period of say 2 – 3 weeks at a time …….. Have rest periods in between using it ?

Perhaps this link may be of use to you ~

http://www.detoxaustralia.com.au/supplementing_your_.htm

Water, water water …. Ensure that you also hydrate your body properly with at least 2 – 3 litres of water per day as nothing substitutes for pure fresh water?

Try to cut back on dehydrating drinks such as coffee, tea, sodas and soft drinks and alcohol (if you drink any of these) as they will not only dehydrate you terribly but also rob you of your essential B complex of vitamins.

Take a multi B complex supplement also…. To support healthy immune, neural and digestive functioning…… Great for bolstering your body to deal with life’s every day stressy situation …. Get one including all the B’s ie ~ B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 andB12 etc. As they all work best as a group. Don’t buy any of the B complex of vitamins individually but rather as a whole group, unless specifically told to do so buy a nutritionally oriented physician or naturopath ?

Please also ensure that you consult with a nutritionally oriented physician or naturopath or herbalist before using Dandelion herb if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and do not use on infants or young children ?

Try to cut out all junky and pre packaged foods and eat food as freshly and as close to its natural state as you possibly can…… Pump your intake of leafy and green vegies (rich in magnesium and foods rich in magnesium will help to bolster healthy nerve and muscle functioning thus aiding in any issues with constipation you may have), vegies, fresh fruits, wholegrain cereals and breads, cold water fishes (also rich in magnesium) and organic lean meats ?

Hope this info helps you a bit?

Good health to you & yours?

CHEERS
?

Betty asks…

what is the best way to naturally detoxify your liver?

Chloe Adisson answers:

The best (and easiest and cheapest!) thing you can do is to eat a diet of at least 75% raw foods. (Fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, fresh juices, lots of filtered water.)

Keep the colon clean to facilitate toxin elimination from the liver: Eating plenty of raw fibrous vegetables, like carrots, celery and cauliflower, will sweep out your colon nicely.

Foods high in Vitamin K (leafy greens, alfalfa sprouts) are especially beneficial.

Eat plenty of raw almonds, Brazil nuts, coconut, walnuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, or pumpkin seeds. These contain arginine, an amino acid which helps to detoxify ammonia, a by-product of protein digestion which accumulates in the liver.

Avoid processed foods, red meat, alcohol, caffeine and medications where possible.
