Health and Wellness Check Up

Have you been to the family doctor for a check-up lately? You know how it goes; once you hit the age of 40, they expect you in every year for a general physical. This is a good thing. How else could you monitor your health and wellness? When it comes to taking good care of yourself, there are some things you should focus on. I think every human being alive knows that their health and wellness depends on their lifestyle. Are you doing what it takes to make certain that your body is in proper shape and your heart-rate is sound? If you're not sure, then it's definitely time to find out.

What do you think of when you consider your health and wellness overall. For me, I have to say that my diet and exercise routine comes to mind first and foremost. Now, if you didn't already know it, you are what you eat and what you do. Don't get me wrong; I'm not talking about your career. I am referring to your everyday meals and routines. For example, do you dine out at Burger King each day for lunch? Do you spend your evenings watching television and munching on Cheetos? If this sounds all too familiar, then you may want to re-evaluate your personal health and wellness. It's time to wake up, people! You can't live like this and actually expect to live a long and healthy life. You're basically killing yourself slowly. How about trying a new routine? First of all, you have to alter your diet. No more fast food! The most you should consume this stuff is one meal out of the week. However, I would shoot for once a month. It just isn't healthy. Foods you will want to focus on are fruits, vegetables and fish. These are wonderful for your overall health and wellness. Your body needs those vitamins and minerals. Always make sure to drink loads of water. You can even toss a daily multivitamin in the mix. These are imperative factors to health and wellness. Of course there is the fitness side as well. Every human being needs to adopt some sort of exercise regime. This is essential to your physique, bones and muscles. It's crucial to keep them strong. For more information regarding general health and wellness, you can always log onto your personal computer. WebMD.com is a great site to check out if you have any concerns. Live long and live well.

The Latest and Greatest Baldness Treatments

Are you a hair person? When I ask this I am basically questioning your love for hair. Or, possibly lack there of. Although the majority of human beings seem to love a health head of hair, I have certainly met a few who prefer it bald. I guess baldness treatments are not needed for these folks. So, where do you stand on this issue? Do you feel insecure or inadequate without a full head of fuzz or does bushy hair just get in your way? I think those who prefer none are rather fortunate. Many men feel like they have to keep that full head of hair for all eternity or face becoming a pariah. For those who feel this way, there are a number of great contemporary baldness treatments.

Do you know of the latest and greatest baldness treatments? If you ask your family doctor, I'm sure you could get the scoop on several. Or, better yet, you could visit a trichologist and get a more specific rundown of actual procedures and success rates. The wonderful aspect of losing your dew now days is the ability to get it back. There are more baldness treatments now than ever before. It's kind of funny when I think about it. I have always seen my father as a bald man. Apparently he had hair, but I was just too young to remember it. I believe he lost it back when I was 4 or 5. However, I never heard him speak of baldness treatments. Now, this could be due to the fact that it was 20 years ago and not a lot was available. On the other hand, it could have simply been that he didn't care. Believe it or not, not everyone cares a great deal about hair. I think a lot of it has to do with our own securities. Do you feel secure without a stylish dew? I personally cannot say at this point since I still have my full head of hair.

If what you're looking for are baldness treatments, then you may also want to try getting on the World-Wide-Web. The Internet is a great place to begin your search for baldness treatments. Virtually everything out there can be discovered and read about in cyberspace. If you're not sure what websites to view, you can always check out the basic ones such as WebMD.com. This is the perfect website for medical/cosmetic issues like baldness treatments. Get online now to learn more.

Different Types Of Headaches

Headaches are often small problems to be taken care of, but you can't know that until you know why you are getting them. Even if you've never had a migraine, it doesn't mean you can't develop one. There are many different types of headaches that can strike at anytime, even if you have never had one like it before. Don't confuse these with a headache that knocks you for a loop out of nowhere, however, because those may require medical intervention. I'm referring to the type that comes slowly, and seem to slowly take over your head. The more you know about the different types of headaches there are, the smarter you will be about your pain.

When it comes to understanding the different types of headaches you may be getting, it is important for you to remember what was happening in the hours leading up to it. This can give you huge clues as to what is causing your headaches, and what you can do to prevent them in the future. You may be surprised to find that a simple bad habit is contributing to the pain in your head, and that different things cause different types of headaches.

If you have a migraine, you probably know it. Migraines are often accompanied by a host of symptoms that are very obvious. Many with this type of headache are often sick to their stomach, and become sensitive to sound and light. If you don't seem to have any of these symptoms with your headache, you should consider you have one of the other different types of headaches.

One common type of headache is the tension headache. This type of headache can be caused by stress, eyestrain from computer work or bad eye prescription, or from loud and constant noise. You may also be getting headaches from allergies or from sinus pressure. These are commonly focused in your face or forehead. The more you understand these different types of headaches, the better you can deal with them when they happen. Keep notes if it helps.

If you are having trouble deciphering between the different types of headaches, or have some that seem strange to you, you should talk with a doctor. At times, headaches can indicate a more serious medical problem, and it may be something that you should have taken care of as soon as possible. If in doubt, seek a medical opinion. While you may think it is a waste of time, remember that it's always best to be safe. If your gut tells you something is wrong, it is in your best interest to pay attention to that feeling.

Have You Ever Heard of Epicuren Skin Care?

What is your current skin care regime? Epicuren skin care is a gental on the skin and one you should consider.
Most of us just simply grab a bar of deodorant soap, lather up your face and suddenly feel Zest fully clean? I
know because that is what I use to do. I'll bet your pores feel Zest fully tight and dry as well. There is a
reason for this.

Deodorant bar soaps of any kind are meant for your body, and not your face. Your face is much different. In
fact, it's an organ made up of 10,000 pores. It requires treatment or it may lash out with wrinkles and
breakouts. What you should be using is a gentle skin care system such as Epicuren skin care. With all of the
great products out there these days, no one should be lathering up their mug with a bar of Irish Spring.

Some of the finest skin care systems now days are found in salons. I am talking about beauty spas, folks.
Surely you like to treat yourself to a nice facial or full body massage sometimes. These are those ever-so-kind
and serene moments we work our butts off for. Anyway, these wonderful establishments also carry amazing
products such as Pevonia and Epicuren skin care. These are the cosmetics you need to treat your skin right.

A close friend of mine suffered badly from acne and dry skin at the same time. As it turned out, he wasn't
properly taking care of his face. Often this is the typical story. As opposed to using something gentle like
Epicuren skin care, he was scrubbing his face with bars of Caress. This cracked me up for many reasons. He had
apparently thought that this bar soap was extra gentle from watching the advertisements on television. Go
figure. It was time for me to educate this fool on taking decent care of his face. I purchased him a quality
epicuren skin care system online and took it to his house. I proceeded in telling him how to use it and why it
was better than a bar of soap.

These days the Epicuren skin care regime is all he uses and his complexion is clearer than ever before. He
claims that the moisturizer does wonders for his face. If you are in need of an excellent skin care system that
won't irritate your delicate face, then I suggest you get on the web. There truly are infinite skin care
routines to choose from these days. You can easily pull up the website for Epicuren skin care and check out
what all they have to offer. Hop online and check it out. Your face deserves it.

Making Herbal Remedies - What is a Decoction?

Making herbal remedies isn't difficult or complicated, its just made to seem that way. If you can boil water, you can make your own tinctures, infusions or decoctions. In this article we will discuss decoctions, what are they, how are they prepared, and examples of common decoctions.

Simply put, a decoction is your basic infusion juiced up to induce stubborn roots, barks and resins to release their medicinal herbhandbook properties. While most plants will yield their properties to cold or boiling hot water in a matter of minutes, some require a much longer period of time, say 30 minutes or more.

While occasionally a whole plant with stem, twig, flower, leaf and bud is used for special preventive effects, usually only one part of a plant is used at one time. Examples of herbs that work best in a decoction would include:

Elm Bark, used for herpes, scurf, itch and other skin problems

Comfrey Root, the decoction makes for a good gargle and mouthwash for throat inflammations, hoarseness and bleeding gums*

Flaxseed, this decoction can be used for cough, chest and lung problems. Remember to use only ripe seeds as the immature seedpods can cause poisoning.

English Oak Bark, a decoction of the bark can be used internally or externally for hemorrhoids and other rectal problems, menstrual problems and blood in the urine.

Preparing A Decoction:

Fresh herbs should be sliced; dry herbs should be powered or well bruised. A decoction should always be strained when it is hot so that the matter, which separates upon cooling, can be mixed again with the fluid by shaking when the remedy is used.

When preparing your decoction use glass, ceramic or earthenware pots. Do not use plain cast iron with astringent plants. Use 1 ounce (30 g) of dried root or bark to just over a pint of water. Allow this to boil for at least ten minutes or longer. The mixture then steeps with a cover on the pot for an additional 3 to 4 minutes. Strain out the plant parts before drinking.

Warning: The FDA has determined that Comfrey can lead to Pyrrolizidine alkaloid poisoning which causes a liver disorder in humans called hepatic veno-occlusive disease. The small and medium veins in the liver become obstructed, eventually leading to liver disfunction, cirrhosis and death. While only 2 deaths attributed to Comfrey have been documented, due caution is indicated.

Alternative Herbal Treatment for Diabetes

Everyone should be able to enjoy their life without the hassle of painful injections, or special diets, which is why an herbal treatment for diabetes may be worth investigating for you. Diabetes doesn't have to control your life or how you live it. No longer would you have to use shots to regulate your body, or stop enjoying the foods that you once enjoyed. By using herbs as your treatment source, you can regain that control without having to make special considerations for yourself.

Herbs have long been known to assist people with ailments or diseases. Some herbs diabetes and minerals people are using with success are cinnamon, chromium picolinate, gymnema sylvestra, and vanadyl sulfate. You may want to look at Optimum an alternative herbal product to treat diabetes.  With a little research, you may find a new alternative to help you with your diabetes. Start at the library when searching for an herbal treatment for diabetes. There are many books available that can give insightful information of how particular herbs can affect diabetes. You may even be able to find a book on growing your own herbs.

Next, you may want to try an internet search. You can easily find a forum where others have already found and used an herbal treatment for diabetes. If you would prefer to speak with someone in person, check your phone book's yellow pages for a practicing dietician in your area, or take a trip to the health food store and see what they would recommend. Both the dietician and health food store would be able to share what others have found that helps balance their diabetes. With the information of what has worked for others, you will be one step closer to finding an alternative for yourself.

When considering a new treatment method, everyone should consult with their doctor. Only with the guidance of an educated and trained professional would someone know that their herbal treatment for diabetes is the best alternative for them to use. Never begin a new treatment without first discussing the risks and possible alternatives that are available. You may find that using herbs in conjunction with a prescribed medicine is necessary, or your doctor may feel that herbs alone will be able to control your diabetes. Diabetes can be deadly, and professional medical consultation should be sought.
