Aloe Vera Gel For Acne Questions Answered

Share

William asks…

gel for acne?

I have been recommended to use aloe vera gel to treat my acne. I’ve decided to find out how to use aloe vera gel for my acne and the results of it before buying aloe vera gel. Have anyone tried using aloe vera gel to treat her acne? Can you please share with me how you applied the aloe vera gel? Do you wash it off in the morning after you apply it at night or do you have other ways of applying it? Thanks! :D

:

6 things must be done EVERYDAY to reduce/prevent acne: 1)Wash, Tone, Moisturize Face 2 or 3 Times 2)Don’t Let Dirty Things Touch Face 3)Eat Healthy Food, Limit Junk Food 4)Take Multi Vitamin Mineral 5)Drink About 64 oz Pure Water 6)Do 20 to 30 Min Aerobic Exercise. Doing 1 or a few of these will NOT keep skin clear as possible!

Use 3 things on face: Wash, Toner, Moisturizer. Do this at least 2x a day, morning & night (possibly 3rd time, midday, if super oily/sweating). Products that work for one person may not work for another person, so always do small patch test on face for a couple of days to see how skin will react to product! Don’t quickly jump from product to product! Give skin a break before trying new product to prevent irritation! Natural & gentle products are sometimes more effective than acne medicine!

NATURAL & GENTLE: Wash face with warm water & Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar by Johnson & Johnson. Tone face with Witch Hazel (Thayers or Dickinson’s) or Homemade Toner. Witch Hazel reduces bacteria/swelling, minimizes pores, helps acne. Make toner by mixing 1 part With The Mother (Try Bragg) with 5 parts pure water. Test small area! If burns/to drying, use more water! Use at least 1 part water! Less Water = Stronger, More Drying Formula. This vinegar kills bacteria, absorbs excess oil, dries out pimples, lightens scars, refines skin tone. Don’t use other types of vinegar, will not work! Moisturize face with Lily Of The Desert Aloe Vera Gelly, its 99% organic, contains vitamin A, C, E! Aloe vera helps renew skin cells, heals blemishes/scars. Don’t use other brands of aloe, has very little aloe & to much junk in it which can irritate skin!

ACNE MEDICINE: Try 1 of these active ingredients for a period of time to see if skin improves: Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Sulfur, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid. Try acids by Perfect Peel Solutions, Cellbone Technology, Skin Laboratory, Alpha Hydrox/Neoteric Cosmetics. Acid heals acne, cyst, scars! If over the counter stuff doesn’t work, see doctor to get stronger medicine.

FACE PRODUCTS & MAKEUP: Only use oil free products that won’t clog pores & cause acne! Try Revlon ColorStay Combination/Oily Skin Foundation. Using a Makeup Setting Spray (Skindinavia, Model In A Bottle, Urban Decay, Sephora) will give you shine-free skin all day! Old makeup, makeup tools harbor bacteria, Use fresh makeup, wash/replace tools often! Wash makeup off face before going to bed!

FACE MASK can be done once a week. Make mask by mixing plain oatmeal with water. Oatmeal is soothing, absorbs excess oil, makes skin smoother. Wash face with warm water, apply mask. Leave on for 30 min. Rinse off with warm water, Apply toner & moisturizer.

HANDS-HAIR-STUFF: Keep dirt & bacteria at bay to prevent breakouts! Don’t touch face with hands, Don’t let phone nor dirty oily hair touch face, Don’t lean face on objects, Clean glasses often, Wash pillowcase, sheets, blanket, washcloth, towel often. Always wash hands before applying face products!

KEEP MOVING: Aerobic Exercise, Face Massage, Dry Skin Brushing increases circulation & delivery of nutrients to skin cells, encourages good blood supply, helps remove toxins, controls acne breakouts! Do 20to30 min of exercise, everyday or every other day! For outstanding results, do all 3 activities, everyday! When exercising, drink water & immediately take a shower to remove sweat & dirt! For face massage, wash hands & face, apply toner, use aloe vera as massage gel. Do 10 min massage before going to bed. Don’t wash face again, let aloe dry on face. Buy any book on face massage (Ten Minute Facelift by Jennie Harding). Dry Skin Brushing must be done correctly & carefully, read book, Dr. Berkowsky’s Vital Chi Skin Brushing System by Bruce Berkowsky! Never brush delicate face! Take shower after brushing to wash off dead skin & dirt!

DIET & LIFESTYLE: Research has shown that there is a connection between certain kinds of food & acne! Read book The by Alan C. Logan & Valori Treloar! This book has detailed info on what to eat and not to eat to help reduce/prevent acne! Always eat healthy food – fruit, vegetables, lean meat, fiber, beans, wholegrains, foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids, zinc, vitamin A & C. Limit intake of frozen meals, dairy, milk, fat, oil, butter, greasy/fried foods, sugar, candy, salt, dessert, caffeine, coffee, pop, alcohol. Always avoid cigarettes, tobacco, illegal drugs! Its hard to get all needs, so take supplement everyday! Overdosing on vitamins minerals from food or supplements is dangerous! Drinking about 64 oz of pure water everyday improves skin quality, flushes out toxins, delivers nutrients to skin! You can also include 100% Fruit Juice as part of your daily total. Acne can be caused or aggravated by constipation, make sure bow movements are regular! Getting enough sleep helps skin repair itself!

Helen asks…

?

Ok so i bought a moisturizing aloe vera facial gel that’s 98% Aloe Vera. I have some acne that i’m currently using medication from the doctor for. I want to use the aloe vera gel to help get rid of some of the scars and as a moisturizer seeing how dry the medication makes my skin. I’m just wondering if it will cause anymore acne?

Chloe Adisson answers:

The aloe vera will just dry out ur skin and acne!

James asks…

for acne?

On the back of the bottle it say “aloe Vera gel cools and soothes minor skin irritations, abrasions, and sunburns. This blend of Aloe Vera Gel helps restore moisture to damaged skin and helps prevent drying and peeling. Great for softening and nourishing skin year round.” Can i use this for my acne? If i can how would? like how often and all that? on the front it just says ” Aloe Vera Gel, moisturizes and soothes dry, sun damaged skin” don’t no if that helps or not but please help!

Chloe Adisson answers:

It’s great for acne if you’re not allergic to it. Most people aren’t – it’s an ingredient in most products. If you’re allergic to onions, garlic, or tulips, that would be an indicator of an aloe vera allergy.
As for application, apply just enough so your skin feels moist, use morning and night as with any other moisturizer.

Sandra asks…

?

hey i have heard that aloe vera gel is great for acne but im not sure if i should buy the product or not.
does it reduce redness and marks? i have mild acne but does it make the acne worse? like more pimples?
thanks!

Chloe Adisson answers:

Don’t put it specifically on pimples. If you have one that you picked at and its dry and flaky, it seems to work pretty ok at helping that. Putting it directly on festering pimples would make them worse. Or it did for me, anyways.

Laura asks…

aloe Vera gel for acne/acne scars?

i just need a simple answer don’t tell me about some other product that works great all i want to know is does aloe vera gel work on acne and acne scars? and if a constantly use it will it lessen the amount of acne?
p.s i use the real plant gel

Chloe Adisson answers:

Aloe vera pulp is good for digestive organs & as well as it retains the moisture of the skin .If you are asking about prevention of acne by using it alone , My answer probably may be or not . Acne problem is due to hormonal imbalance & disturb immune system of the body.
Aloe vera alone can not can improve both of the above.
As you have restricted to answer more other than aloe vera.So I finish here.

Detoxify Or Die Questions Answered

Share

Betty asks…

What’s the deal with the ?

It seems like everyone attacks dieting with lectures on anorexia and bulimia. I just read about someone wanting to reduce their caloric intake to between 300-400 calories a day and she only got one actual answer, the rest were comments “You’re going to die.” Granted, the question seemed extreme, and there was more desperation behind it than anything else…but if you consider the alternative…obesity is just as deadly. Atherosclerosis, Myocardial Infarction, Diabetes..and the list goes on and on. Overeating is just as serious, if not worse. Then, when you consider the countless websites that talk about “fasting” for 30 days on WATER ALONE for weight loss and body detoxification, how can you justify what’s healthy and what’s not? Starving yourself for thirty days is acceptable if you’re doing it to detoxify your body…but cutting your caloric intake down is anorexic? It was my understanding that your body had three sources of energy…glucose, glucagon, and fat. Once your body is starved of glucose and glucagon, it turns to its fat store, and you lose weight. EVENTUALLY, your body will eat away at its muscles, but not before the fat..Someone please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m not anorexic or bulimic, nor do I approve of such behaviors. I just see people seeking being shunned for it. I’m just trying to understand why.
I’m not looking for dieting advice either. I don’t have a weight problem.

:

Haha. You sound really really educated about this kind of stuff.

I think people are being criticiced for seeking diet advice because in my expierence with Yahoo Answers alot of the people are Underweight already and still they want to lose more weight. When you thing about it there are 11 and 12 year olds on this site wanting to know if the Master Cleanse or drinking grapefruit juice all day will help them lose weight.

And usually people are not shunned for asking for diet advice when they actually need it. Like if there overweight or obese, buy yeah that happens a lot. People tend to lecture people on stuff like that because it’s preventable. Just like obesity is, however there are more questions that pertain more to low weight.

Just my opinion :]
And yes, I agree with everything you said.

Donald asks…

Who would do this?

By Detoxing and Rejuvenating your Mind, Body and Spirit,

1. You allow yourself to heal from any toxins that have been held inside your body,
2. You allow your Mind to release any harsh feelings or Sad emotions,
3. You allow your Spirit to become open and free. Once you ahve Detoxified and Rejuvenated your Mind Body and Spirit,
4. You can finally Allow yourself to enjoy real Homeostasis.

(Homeostasis: Optimal Well being, Optimal Health, At a point in your life when all is ok, and righht with you Physically, Mentally, Emotionall, and Spiritually.)

Stress can make any disorder worse. May it be Mental Emotional or physical. Stress is when you worry way too much about things that can be fix with a little effort on your own personal part.
Stress has been proven to cause serious health risks, such as heart disease, Endurance Problems, Fatigue, Emotional Imbalances, etc.
There are options to dealing stress and weight loss. Such as Detox plans and rejuvenation Plans, as the one I have enclosed.

I definitely stress that you consult your physician, about anything new or changes in your daily regimine. As this plan will affect other areas of your Daily living and Medications.

Please feel free to Copy and Print this to your own Blank Text and save it and print it out when you go to your DR again.

Chloe Adisson answers:

Good idea but…. I love to eat and coul not get past the water fast

Laura asks…

When did people start using the word “toxin” to refer to waste?

When I was in middle school, “toxin” meant something that could reliably be used by an animal, in small doses, to kill another animal. Or otherwise something that was fatal in small doses. “Toxic”, too, had an implied lethality.

Now, it means any substance that can cause discomfort. Also, when people talk about using diuretics such as tea to flush waste from the body, people say they are “detoxifying” and “flushing toxins” from their bodies.

The way other people use that word and the way I use the word are incompatible, since if there were enough toxins in your body for a cup of green tea to have a noticeable effect on their level, you would be long since dead and should probably be walled off so that other people don’t touch you and die as well.

So when exactly did this change?

Chloe Adisson answers:

At least in the UK, it seems to have started in the early 1990s.

I had a look in NewsBank (the UK and archive), and until around 1992 there were several dozen hits in papers a year, all using it in the trad scientific sense. Then over about a decade it creeps up to 2000+ hits, either using it to refer to general pollutants or (mostly) the fictitious poisons that “detoxifying” is alleged to remove.

Richard asks…

Wouldn’t it be great if a kind of penicillin for mental health were developed?

In physical health, before antibiotics, people with infections had to rely on their immune systems to fight certain diseases. Many times nature didn’t do such a good job, and people got really sick or died. But now that we have antibiotics, you just take a pill for a few days, and you’re totally cured. Modern medicine has done better than the body’s natural disease-fighting abilities.

In mental health, we’re not so advanced yet. People with “infections,” in the form of , suffer for years or lifetimes – depression, OCD, addictions, even suicide. The cures are still relatively primitive. Talk therapy can take a long time to resolve problems. Medications like antidepressants control the symptoms, but they don’t really cure the underlying emotional issues.

Wouldn’t it be great if someone developed a way to quickly detoxify the brain? I’ve imagined that if someone could study brain waves of what happens in therapy, and then stimulate the brain in the same way, maybe people could have quick and lasting relief from their emotional problems. Nowadays some doctors do use electroconvulsive therapy, but that’s sort of like hitting the reset button on a computer, and the problems can come back. I wish there was a more controlled, painless way to free people from painful emotional conditions for good.

Chloe Adisson answers:

Were working on it.

Jenny asks…

Should I start smoking pot again?

PLEASE READ BEFORE ANSWERING!

I’ll try to make it short and sweet. PLEASE HELP!

Any ways. I’ve always had problems socially. I never really fit in due to my awkward personality and horrible social graces. I just had a disposition people didn’t like as a young girl. Growing up I had friends but being so problematic we parted ways or we’d just stop talking. I started smoking pot when I was 15, roughly a month before my 16th birthday (I am 21 now) and at first it made me a giggling, happy, social butterfly and I enjoyed it alot. But later on it started making me paranoid and giving me anxiety and it made me think of death and just became a scary , unenjoyable thing. It made me paranoid about people and very self-conscious about how I looked. But for some reason I kept doing it. It came to a point where I could only smoke pot alone because around other people I couldn’t enjoy myself cause my anxiety would go out of control. Alone I didn’t get too anxious but I still felt some anxiety there. It gave me horrible anxiety, I’ve ALWAYS had anxiety, but I feel pot amplified it. The reason I would keep smoking pot is because I wanted it to be the way it was when I first started and I thought maybe I’m just going through a phase with it and eventually I’ll start enjoying it again, and once in a blue moon it would give me that good feeling so I was willing to roll the dice and smoke pot just to possibly get that feeling again….

Long story short. I am a loner with no social skills. I dont know where I went wrong to end up like that but I feel the pot didn’t help and got my anxiety out of whack.

I want to work on becoming social and less of a neurotic anxious freak. I quit smoking pot but i’m thinking, the weed already did its damage… What good will it do to stop now?

If I keep off weed will I detoxify? Will all those weird paranoid thoughts I have unravel and will my brain go back to normal?

Will quiting really help me become more “normal?”

Chloe Adisson answers:

Well, you shouldn’t smoke pot in the first place. It only gives you a false sense that you’re happy and okay and that your life isn’t like it really is. Quit smoking it. Maybe if you start joining more clubs and really, really, trying to socialize, you might feel it lot better. Good luck!

Detoxify Your Body Questions Answered

Share

Helen asks…

will cleansing/detoxify your body give you lighter skin?

if you cleanse/detoxify your body, would that help you get lighter skin?

:

No it will not in all honesty.
It will only clear your intestines, and give you a healthier colon.

If you want to get lighter skin, it may or may not be possible because of your natural pigmentation of skin tone.

Go talk to a dermatologist, and see what they can do for you.

Mandy asks…

What are some natural ways to detoxify your body?

I smoked a cigarette and I want to rid my body of the toxins as good as possible. Any suggestions?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Yes, just leave your body to clean itself and keep up a healthy diet.

Anyone who tells you that ‘detox’ is real is a scammer who is insulting your intelligence.

Sandy asks…

Has anyone ever used Niacin to detoxify your body?

I heard Niacin is used to detoxify all the toxins that you have ingested, consumed and or inhaled. Has anyone used this product to clean your system and did it work? I have heard this works for people who gets migranes. Has anyone lost weight using this product? How do you know if the toxins are cleaned out of your system? What have people used this for and where the results what you expected?
Thanks to all the post and to the mom the nurse, we breath, consume and injest toxins from the air we breath, the foods we eat that have streoids and other additives, second hand smoke, ect…. and as a nurse you should know that. Thanks you Tony T for the web page. Doomjockey and Amy Scrubs thanks for your input also.

Chloe Adisson answers:

Although Niacin, Vitamin B3 is used to help folks with high cholesterol, it has to be very carefully monitored and adjusted. In high doses it has some very unsavory side effects, such as skin rashes and heart arrythmias. If it gets bad enough, it can even cause liver failure. There have been scientific studies done on it’s ability to “flush” a system but they haven’t found any benefit. What they have found is that in the normal person the side effects and toxicity prove far more dangerous than any benefit they might have. For the average person there are no toxins that you need concern yourself with trying to remove, and really none you can remove with things available for sale. The digestive system is a self cleaning system, set up to absorb nutrients from what you’ve eaten. It doesn’t allow things to flow into the system from the other direction. The job of waste removal from the blood falls to the liver and kidneys, which is where any intake of B3 would be dealt with. They would try to remove the excess amounts you took, and in the process likely get overloaded, causing the side effects I mentioned. It’s not a good idea to overload them either, since permanent damage is nearly impossible to fix. In cases where somebody has actually gotten a toxic substance into the body, there are to attempt to leach it out, using forms of chemotherapy to do it. It’s not easy, and it comes with risks all it’s own. And finally, there is a portion of the population that is somewhat allergic to the supplemental forms, and their reactions to large doses are really not good. It can make you go blind, even kill you. As a health regimen, taking more than the 100% recommended allowance isn’t just not sensible, it’s dangerous. You can’t clean your system, and more to the point, you don’t need to. Do it the old fashioned way, eat right, drink plenty of fluids, and exercise. Your body is designed to function quite well if you do these things, and without any other assistance from you. People live quite well without ever even trying to clean out their insides, and some of those who have tried have died due to their efforts to meddle. Do yourself a favor, don’t waste you money on the supplements like this. Just buy good food to eat,and trust your body knows what it needs to do.

Joseph asks…

Can you detoxify your body from radiation?

If you are exposed to radiation, is there anyway you can take it out of your body?:/
Sorry if my question is stupid, but I am really worried and I want to know.

Chloe Adisson answers:

The damage is done upon exposure. Think in terms of a microwave oven. You “cook” from the inside out. The only people at serious risk of exposure in japan are the workers who are voluntarily going into the contaminated site to hold things together. You,ll get way more radiation from a ct scan than from the broken reactor.

Maria asks…

what are some simple home remedies to detoxify your body?

are there any home remedies like a body wrap that is simple to do at home or any other kind of remedies i can try at home to lose inches in a day?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Lots of fiber and super milk thistle for your liver. Also, HOT baths and yoga. Don’t forget to drink lots of water, 64oz per day (or your body weight divided in half = the oz of water you should drink in a day).

103.5 Questions Answered

Share

Mary asks…

How much of a problem is it if my hubby has a ?

His mom is really worried and wants him to go to the emergency room, but he wants to wait till tomorrow and see the regular doctor. Is 103.5 really dangerous or will he be OK till morning?

:

I am not sure whats to dangerous. But when I was I kid I had a bad fever to hot said I could die. They took me to the hospital and put me in a tub of icy cold water to cool me down, it worked and lowered my tempature to a safe tempature. We could of did the same thing at home, that will lower his tempature. I hardly remember I was young but wasn’t fun I was freezing in icy water but it had to be done.

Robert asks…

what is the temperature in degrees Celsius of a person with a fever of 103.5 degrees fahrenheit.?

Put the answer into two decimals places.

Chloe Adisson answers:

39.72 deg. C

Mark asks…

Can a 103.5 fever and a painful headache cause brain damage?

I am 15 years old and I had a painful headache a few days ago and a high fever, and I am wonder if that can have caused brain damage. If the fever is not high enough for that, can the headache have cause any in addition to the fever? It’s my 10th day being sick and I am just coughing with no fever or any other symptoms. What are the minimal slightest symptoms of brain damage? What are the symptoms of severe brain damage?

Chloe Adisson answers:

No. It’s not likely unless the fever is higher than 107°. Why do you think you could have brain damage? The cough is probably normal even though you’re not sick anymore.

And as to what are the severe brain damages symptoms. I doubt you’d be able to be able to word a question, let apart go to your computer and type it, if you had any.

Maria asks…

How can I get rid of a fever quickly without going to the doctor’s?

I’ve had a fever for the past one and half days. It was at 103.5 then it dropped now at 100.1 and then one hour later it went up to 101.4. As of right now i’m taking tylenol 1000mg every 4-6 hrs and dimetapp cold and allergy since I do got other symptoms such as runny nose and eyes. And also sore throat kinda. Im allergic to a lot of medications…Can anyone help me? I need to get rid of the fever hopefully for tomorrow night.

Chloe Adisson answers:

Make sure your cold medicine doesn’t also contain tylenol or acetaminophen, it’s generic name. You don’t want to accidentally OD on Tylenol, it’ll mess up your liver.
Sounds like you’re doing the right thing about treating your fever. Make sure you drink plenty of liquids, cause when you have a fever your body burns up more liquids.
There’s no telling when your temp and symptoms will get better, a virus can last to 7 days. Virus’s get bettter with time and symptomatic treatment. No medicine (besides cold eeze and the like) will help it go away quicker. Some people say Ecchinacia helps,. But studies show it doesn’t. Vit C won’t hurt, but most studies say it doesn’t help either. So, if you get worse, make sure you seek treatment. It’s a good sign the overall temp is lower. Temps do tend to spike in the late afternoon. Good luck hope you feel better sooon!

Thomas asks…

What could it mean If I have small white spots at the back of my throat and on the sides?

I just got over a really terrible sickness. fever of 103.5, dizziness, etc. I now have a really bad sore throat that has to be kept at bay with Tylenol and ibeprofen (not sure how to spell it). What could that possible mean?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Possibly could be strep throat, you need a throat culture done to test for it. Antibiotics will be given if the test is positive.

Detoxifying Foods Questions Answered

Share

Paul asks…

What are some good detoxifying foods?

I drink a lot on the weekends (i’m a college student, haha) and at my school, the food tends to be a little fried and greasy. I have no trouble with my weight, because I have a fast metabolism, but I can see the damage from this in my skin (some pimples) etc. What are some foods/drinks that are good for this problem?

:

Just eat all raw veggies and drink water, you’ll detox your body quickly.

Sandra asks…

What foods are good for detoxifying the liver?

Chloe Adisson answers:

All unprocessed foods are good but you should also go to the chemist and get a box of milk thistle tablets they are known to do this very job.

Thomas asks…

What’re the best detoxifying foods?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Garlic, water with lemon, green tea, raw vegetables and fruit (no fruit if you suffer from yeast infections, and no bananas at all)

Robert asks…

what are the most detoxifying foods?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Asparagus and watermelon

David asks…

Has anyone used those detoxifying food pads and found it makes a difference in anyway?

The ones you tape on to the bottoms of you feet.

Chloe Adisson answers:

If your talking about the Kinoki foot patch it doesnt work. Its all a gimmick, if I remember correctly, the foot patch contains tea and vinegar and doesnt do anything.. If it does its more of a placebo effect, all that stuff about how it turns black the next day, it’ll turn black on its own without any skin contact..Its a waste..

Extraction Methods for Essential Oils

Share

For centuries, civilizations have sought to capture the healing benefits of plants. The fragrant, yet therapeutic, attributes endowed to each plant by the Lord have captivated ladies by their smell, scientists by their chemistry, and connoisseurs of medical alternatives by their ability to strengthen health. The proper of an oil’s volatile properties, that which causes an oil to smell and have inhalation benefits, is crucial to maintaining an oil’s integrity and potency. There are four types of extraction: expression, solvent extraction, CO2 extraction and distillation.

The very environmentally friend method of expression is simply a pressing of the plant material (as in citrus rinds) to ‘express’ tiny pockets of oil within. The resulting oil is called an essence. Expressed essential oils are the most volatile, or what aromatherapists refer to as the top note in a blend because they are smelled first. These oils are often high in anti-oxidant and therefore evaporate quickly.

On the other end of the extraction spectrum are those oils that are solvent extracted. This costly method bathes the plant material in a solvent that extracts its volatile parts. Solvent extraction is mostly done on flower petals such as that of a rose or jasmine which may be too delicate for the heat or steam and pressure required in the other . High temperatures are used to evaporate the solvent bath and a crystallized fragrant substance is left. The oil created from this crystallized substance, called an absolute, is often more pricey due to the miniscule amounts of oils obtained from the process as well as the cost of the process itself. Occasionally solvents are used to finish the distillation process.

The new kid on extraction’s block is CO2 extraction. Oils are rendered in this process very similarly to how coffee is decaffeinated. Low temperatures are used which makes is good for maintaining important oil aspects. But unfortunately the fact that oils are thicker and doesn’t smell or blend as they would normally far outweighs that positive point.

Distillation, the tried and true method has been around for 1000s of years. It is the most common. All plant material used (leaves, flower, stems, etc), the soil in which the plants are grown, the irrigation of those plants during growing phase, the harvesting of the plant at the right time of year, the packing of a distiller prior to distillation, and the monitoring of the sound of the steam during distillation area all important considerations in the distillation process. It is also an important consideration these days to take into account the seeds that are used. With the new hybrids and genetically modified organisms on the market today, we have very little history regarding the effect of these plants on our global ecology, regarding the effect of the oils that come from them, or regarding their abilities to heal as their time-honored counterparts.

Distillation pushes vaporized water through plant material releasing its precious oils. The oil and steam are separated as they travel through the process. The water is drained off and the remaining oil is retrieved. The temperature at which distillation occurs is very important to balance of chemicals within the oil. Minimal temperatures and pressures are best and effective temperatures vary from plant to plant. Distilling at high temperatures is cheaper and shortens distillation time for oil producers, but damages and essential oil’s chemical. This may result in a very fragrant but not therapeutic essential oil. This integral factor can render an oil completely ineffective therapeutically.

The shape of distiller is important. Most distillation units are domed, causing steam to flow back into material and causing the oil to lose its potency. Some distillation units are conical; these typically deliver a better grade oil. One type of distillation unit, originally designed by D. Gary Young, involves low-temperature, low pressure, and a spiral vortex of steam. Young asserts that distilling in this way encourages steam to rise up and out into a condenser preserving fragile essential oil components and giving them the most therapeutic effect.

After any extraction process, assessing an oil’s composition is very important so that the bottled oil is sure to hold the proper chemical constituents in the right proportions. Without this quality assurance the therapeutic effects a user is expecting cannot be ensured. This is done with a Gas Chromatograph (GC) and Mass Spectrometer (MS). Likewise, any adulteration of an oil (ie cutting it with carrier oils, alcohols, other solvents) decreases its effectiveness, increases health hazards, and takes away the beauty of using a completely natural substance to heal.

Allow the full benefit of unadulterated essential oil to find its place in your home and even medicine cabinet. Buy essential oils from distillers with whom you have relationships to ensure the highest quality. Stand amazed at what is contained in nature. The Creator has given us much to explore, extract, and enjoy!

Detoxify Liver Questions Answered

Share

Ken asks…

Detoxify Liver?

What is a reasonably good way to detoxify my liver? I feel I have some questionable symptoms (chronic rashes, sinus infections, breakouts, fatique, strange food reaction, strange taste in my mouth all the time) that may mean I need to take care of my liver (?) Anyone know a way I can do that?

:

I don’t see any way in which these very vague symptoms could be related to liver disease. Perhaps you became scared after reading something about liver detox? Sorry, but there simply is no justification for detoxification.

Chris asks…

How does the liver detoxify blood and maintain glucose balance?

Chloe Adisson answers:

The liver takes toxins that our body makes or that
come into the body and converts them to a non
toxic form that the body can easily dispose of.

Let take alcohol, as an example.
The liver usings it’s cells enzymes, will convert
alcohol first into acetaldehyde, then into acetate,
and then into CO2 and water.

What happens when a person consumes too much
alcohol, the liver cannot convert it fast enough pass
the first stage and it becomes toxic to the liver cells
and can cause damage to them.
This is an example of a possible toxin coming into
the body.

Now for an example of a toxin made in the body.
When we use proteins in our body, a byproduct is
formed. That is ammonia. The liver would normally
take this ammonia and convert it in urea for the kidneys
to pick up and remove it from the body in the urine.
People who have liver disease where the cells of the
liver have died off, this function doesn’t happen
efficiently and so the ammonia stays in the blood and
goes into the brain and causes confusion and disorientation.

So, you can see that the liver handles toxins in the body.
…..
When we eat, the foods are broken down into fats,
carbohydrates, and proteins (amino acids). These
are absorbed into the blood from the intestines and
go to the liver. Our cells use glucose as its main
source of energy. So, the liver will supply this
glucose to the body, even by converting the carbohydrates
first, the proteins second and the fats third into glucose.
If the cells have enough energy, the liver will then convert
the glucose into glycogen and be stored in the liver till
it is needed. It is converted back to glucose when the
cells need more energy (usually between meals)

.

Mark asks…

Im in the Uk what type of Milk thistle would you recommend to detoxify liver and support bile production? The?

ones from the supermarkets dont contain enough of the active ingredient.
thanks

Chloe Adisson answers:

Total poppycock. The liver is the organ that deals with toxins, you cannot detoxify it! Unfortunately the whole concept of detox is an urban myth. It is based solely on the irrational rants of constipated Edwardians who refused to eat vegetables as the considered them food only fit for the lower classes to consume. As a result they had little option but to spend their time taking laxatives and purgatives and giving themselves enemas. Provided you have not already done too much damage to your body, your liver and kidneys will deal with problem of removing toxins from your body, as that was what they were designed to do. After that, tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life and you can start afresh.

Steven asks…

What is the best way to detoxify ones liver? And what are the benefits?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Dandelion tea works wonders on a sluggish liver (the primary filtering organ of the body), gall bladder (which produces bile to assist the digestion of fatty foods) and spleen ( an organ producing new red blood cels), and it also encourages bowel action and reduces fluid retention. Drinking Dandelion tea is one of the most effective ways to detox your body, because it stimulates digestive enzymes and bile to allow the easier metabolism of fatty foods.

Dandelion leaves, alfalfa, aspargus, celery and vitamin B6 can all work as natural diuretics.

Dandelion tea is excellent for ridding the body of excess fluid because, as the tea leaves contain high amounts of potassium, the body is not depleted of this important mineral through the diuretic effect of the tea?

Ensure, for therapeutic purposes, that you buy organic Dandelion leaf as the commercial or teabag varieties have had so much of their oils pulverised from them. Another reason to use organic is one of the properties of the Dandelion plant is to absorb metal pollutants from the atmosphere ~ as such organic really is . Add honey to taste if you like as the taste can be quite bitter ….. Or lemons or limes if you like the tartness?;

2 – 3 teaspoons per teapot would be sufficient?By buying the organic variety, the essential oils are still so potent that the spent leaves could be reused 2 – 3 times ~ simply refill the pot with hot water and rebrew for 15 – 20 minutes.?

Limit your intake of Dandelion tea to a period of say 2 – 3 weeks at a time …….. Have rest periods in between using it ?

Perhaps this link may be of use to you ~

Water, water water …. Ensure that you also hydrate your body properly with at least 2 – 3 litres of water per day as nothing substitutes for pure fresh water?

Try to cut back on dehydrating drinks such as coffee, tea, sodas and soft drinks and alcohol (if you drink any of these) as they will not only dehydrate you terribly but also rob you of your essential B complex of vitamins.

Take a multi B complex supplement also…. To support healthy immune, neural and digestive functioning…… Great for bolstering your body to deal with life’s every day stressy situation …. Get one including all the B’s ie ~ B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 andB12 etc. As they all work best as a group. Don’t buy any of the B complex of vitamins individually but rather as a whole group, unless specifically told to do so buy a nutritionally oriented physician or naturopath ?

Please also ensure that you consult with a nutritionally oriented physician or naturopath or herbalist before using Dandelion herb if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and do not use on infants or young children ?

Try to cut out all junky and pre packaged foods and eat food as freshly and as close to its natural state as you possibly can…… Pump your intake of leafy and green vegies (rich in magnesium and foods rich in magnesium will help to bolster healthy nerve and muscle functioning thus aiding in any issues with constipation you may have), vegies, fresh fruits, wholegrain cereals and breads, cold water fishes (also rich in magnesium) and organic lean meats ?

Hope this info helps you a bit?

Good health to you & yours?

CHEERS
?

Betty asks…

what is the best way to naturally detoxify your liver?

Chloe Adisson answers:

The best (and easiest and cheapest!) thing you can do is to eat a diet of at least 75% raw foods. (Fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, fresh juices, lots of filtered water.)

Keep the colon clean to facilitate toxin elimination from the liver: Eating plenty of raw fibrous vegetables, like carrots, celery and cauliflower, will sweep out your colon nicely.

Foods high in Vitamin K (leafy greens, alfalfa sprouts) are especially beneficial.

Eat plenty of raw almonds, Brazil nuts, coconut, walnuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, or pumpkin seeds. These contain arginine, an amino acid which helps to detoxify ammonia, a by-product of protein digestion which accumulates in the liver.

Avoid processed foods, red meat, alcohol, caffeine and medications where possible.
