Cleansing Herbs for the Body and Mind

Cleansing herbs is one thing we can use to defend our bodies from not only the things we eat but the things we do each and everyday. The stress involved with the typical hectic lifestyle can make a person feel burned out and listless.  One way to combat this is to take some time to cleanse not only the body but the mind.

A perfect time of year to think about making a positive lifestyle change is spring. Spring is a time for renewal and incorporating spring cleansing herbs into your life can give you a fresh new start for the new season.

Cleansing herbs are natural substances that aid the body in ridding itself of unwanted toxins. The cells of our bodies contain all kinds of unappealing toxins that enter our systems through the foods we eat as well as the environment we live in.

Utilizing a supplement that contains cleansing herbs is a natural way to give your body back the control it needs to function properly. Just as we do spring cleaning in our homes we can do the same thing with our bodies. Cleansing herbs are a safe and easy way to do this.

Supplements that contain cleansing herbs can be found in most health food stores. These supplements are specifically designed to be taken when the individual can concentrate on purifying the body. Deciding to cleanse your mind at the same time can be very beneficial as well. Some of the best known cleansing herbs are senna, red clover, and burdock root.

This can be accomplished by choosing to use the cleansing herbs at a time when you can relax. It’s best not to undertake the procedure when you are facing a deadline at work or immersed in the planning of a family event. Instead do it while you can spend your days enjoying relaxing and soothing activities such as reading, meditating or taking peaceful walks. Whatever you find enjoyable and stress free is what you should be doing while undergoing the cleansing process.

When you decide to take cleansing herbs to help clear your body’s system you’ll want to discuss this with someone who specializes in natural remedies. There are several products that offer the benefits of cleansing herbs and it’s important to choose one that will give you the results that you desire.

If you have any health concerns at all you’ll want to consult with your doctor before purchasing and using cleansing herbs. Once you get his or her approval you can go ahead with giving your body its own fresh start.

Using Chinese Tonic Herbs

If you have begun using herbs to achieve an all natural lifestyle for you and your family, you will want to investigate the uses and applications of Chinese tonic herbs and how they can improve your family’s well being. One of the best ways to ingest herbs for maximum potency is by mixing them with water and drinking it as a tonic. This simple solution has helped millions of people achieve the health they deserve, besides giving them more joy for life. The Chinese culture is full of simple herbal tonics that can be used for multiple purposes, from aiding the body in detoxification, as a treatment for eczema or just to help you relax after work.

One example of a Chinese tonic herb is called Rising Moon, commonly known as Four Things.  It is a women's tonic used for centuries in China. It cleanses and strengthens the blood, balances the hormones, tonifies the reproductive organs and kidneys, and helps regulate the menstrual cycle.

Shizandra is another one of the great herbal tonics of all time. It has all five flavors in it and is an excellent tonic, noted for increasing and containing sexual juices, for its ability over time to beautify the skin, and for overall rejuvenation of the body. Lychii berries combines with shizandra like peas in a pod. Lychii gives sweetness, helps increases happiness and improves eyesight. Both Shizandra and lychii berries are good for the liver (Shizandra has been reported to detox heavy metals and toxins from the liver).

Chinese tonic herbs are easy to find. If you are lucky enough to have a health food store within a convenient distance from your home, you would be able to find a lot of various tonics available there, besides getting valuable information from the newsletters or pamphlets available for free. You could ask the employees which Chinese tonic herbs are the most popular with their other customers, or what the benefits or uses of each one would be.

If you don’t have a health food store locally, or they have a poor selection of Chinese tonic herbs, you could also try an online search to find companies that would be able to take your order online and mail you the herbal tonics within a few days. Often times, you will find a brief description of each herbal product that will tell you what they are best used for, and the best way to mix them in the tonic. If you have any questions or just like to speak to someone directly when placing an order, look for an 800 number on the company’s website that would allow you to call and place your order.

You may also want to consult with a dietician to get the most benefit from using Cinese tonic herbs. As a dietician, they have studied the effects that herbs have on our bodies, and they are able to quickly guide you to the solution you need.

About Herbs and Its Use

There is a great tradition in different cultures around the world about the use herbs, for their flavor in cooking and for their healing properties for the mind and body. The monks and nuns in early England were amongst the first people in the West to learn about herbs. They experimented with herbalism in their gardens and soon became experts in dispensing the appropriate treatment.

It's important when learning about the usage of herbs for medicinal purposes, to choose the correct dosage and to make sure of the purity of the herb. Many people who don't know about herbs think that they are completely harmless because they grow naturally. This is not true, as herbs can have side effects just as much as drugs can if not administered correctly.

If you are not sure about herbs, seek advice and go to a licensed herbal practitioner. This is particularly important if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or receiving treatment by drugs. Taking both a herbal treatment and a drug can double up on components and flood the body too much.

The use of herbs and their effects is well documented. A lot of medical professionals from conventional backgrounds are beginning to give herbal remedies more respect as they learn more about herbs. The Chinese have already had herbal medicine as part of their everyday treatment for a very long time. Different ailments have their own treatment solutions, with many herbs duplicating each other.

Aloe Vera is a multi purpose herb, treating many ailments including arthritis, acne, warts, and allergic reactions. Lavender can also help with arthritis. Nigella Sativa (Black Cumin), is another herb that is used for a variety of patients, treating influenza, stomach ache, and pulmonary infections. St. John's Wort (one of the more dangerous herbs in incorrect doses), has been tested in medical trials for the treatment of mild to moderate levels of depression. Results showed that the herb performed better than a placebo.

A lot of people suffer from acute insomnia but don't want to take sleeping pills. In studies about herbs, it's been found that Valerian root is a good alternative and doesn't cause drowsiness in the morning. General fatigue can be helped by periwinkle or dandelion. Periwinkle can also ease the symptoms of the menopause, as can fennel.

Many gardeners get a lot of pleasure from growing a herb garden, providing wonderful scents and flavor for the pot. A stock of mint, basil, oregano, sage, thyme, and parsley will give you the basic supply needed for most dishes. Add some rosemary and chives and you're well set up. You'll have fun learning all about herbs and their uses in the kitchen, whether you follow advice in cookery books or do some experimenting of your own.
