The HCG Diet Plan is the Answer to Weight Loss Problems

Share

Article by Official HCG

With so many people suffering from obesity in this country, the number of plans and supplements on the market borders on the ridiculous. It seems that hardly a week can go by without at least one new product or hitting the market. With this in mind, one might wonder what it is that make the any different or more effective than all of the others or why it is worth investing your money in after you have tried so many others that have failed.

Let’s start with a little of the history behind the HCG diet. During his time studying tropical diseases in India from 1931 to 1949, Dr. Simeons was also studying the effects of malnutrition on expectant mothers. At the same time he was conducting a study on disorders of the pituitary gland and patients suffering from obesity. This study led him the conclusion that those who suffered from a disorder of certain regulatory systems in the human body would become obese no matter how they ate.

In Dr. Simeons’ treatment of his obese patients, he found that by giving them a low dose of HCG or Hormone Chorionic Gonadotropin their body would began to utilize their extra body fat instead of their lean muscle tissues as long as they were also fed a carefully prepared calorie restricted diet. This hormone is produced by the fetus in a pregnant mother and is present in the mother’s urine.

Over time it has been found that HCG is required to regulate the hypothalamus gland which in turn is what controls our metabolism and whether or not we are fat or skinny. The problem is that when we are young our bodies have plenty of these hormones, but by the time we reach adulthood the supply is depleted. With the HCG diet plan you will be taking HCG drops as a supplement to replace what your body is missing and to force the hypothalamus to use up the fat that has been stored in your body when you reduce the amount of calories you are taking in.

The HCG diet is a three phase program; the phases are loading, maintenance and stabilization. Most people love the loading phase even though it only lasts 2 days. You start your day off with 10 HCG drops under your tongue three times each day, leaving them there for 15 minutes. You then get to gorge yourself on all of your favorite foods, eat anything and everything you want as long as you drink as much as half to a full gallon of water.

In the next phase you will be cutting your calorie intake to a very strict 500 calorie diet and the same 10 HCG drops under your tongue three times per day. You will continue to do this until you reach your weight goal. At which point you will be able to move on the third and final phase. Here you will be wrapping up your 500 calorie diet and ending your use of HCG drops. You will need to be on the drops for at least 21 days in order for them to completely reset your hypothalamus.

The maximum time frame that you will be taking the HCG drops is no more than 45 days, after which you will be able to take four week off from your 500 calorie diet and eat normally while avoiding starches and refined sugars. You can then use the diet as needed to maintain your weight. Average weight loss is going to vary from one person to another but is usually in the neighborhood of 40kg or 90 pounds. This is considered by many to be the perfect diet plan for the obese person as it is designed to restore the hypothalamus and the body’s ability to burn off the extra fat that is causing the person’s obesity. During the diet after day two you will only be taking in 500 calories, but your body will be using up 2,000 and shedding the excess weight as the HCG hormone triggers the metabolism.

If you are tired of struggling with your weight and wasting your time and money on worthless diet plans, the Official HCG Diet Plan by Dr. Simeons may be the to your dreams. This diet plan has helped thousands shed their excess weight and keep it off so that they can lead a happy, healthy life.

Aromatherapy Recipes Questions Answered

Share

George asks…

I would like to make my own skincare from proper and eventually sell them?

Is this allowed or is it necessary to do a course. I don’t like the idea of having to do a 3 year course, If there are shorter courses in WA I would prefer?

:

I’m sure it’s allowed!
If you make them properly and label them correctly — with the list of ingredients and a ‘warning’ that it’s homemade.
People do it all the time on e-bay, and I think that’s a good place to sell them. Make sure you include (if you should sell on e-bay) information about the book you got the recipie from.

Lisa asks…

??? AND AROMATHERAPY??? do you know any “recipes” ?

I enjoy using essential oils “straight” for aromatherapy, but I want to be more adventurous and create more complex scents by combining a few together… do you now any “recipes“? or know of a web site or book with recipes?

thanks!

Chloe Adisson answers:

Just key into google “aromatherapy”. There are hundreds of sites to choose from. They all have recipes for anything you want. They explain notes and/or families that go well together. More than I can type here.

Ruth asks…

Hi I am looking for an aromatherapy recipe for pain relief.?

Will eucalyptus, peppermint and juniper berry work? Thanks for reading.

Chloe Adisson answers:

It depends on the type of pain relief you are looking for i.e. Headache, muscle pain, joint pain etc but I tend to use the following recipe for an “all purpose” pain relief massage oil:

500ml sweet almond
25 drops
25 drops
25 drops
25 drops white camphor

If you are taking any “conventional” medication, are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or nursing, remember to check with your GP before using essential oils. Never apply essential oils directly to skin, always blend them with a carrier oil.

Charles asks…

imformation about aromatherapy?

I want to know how I can make my own aromatherapy‘s ? How do you make a carrier oil? Is it possible to plant these aromatherapy ingredients and make the aromatherapy yourself? Can you name some aromatherapy recipes for animals and humans please list which is for humans and which is for animals? Also where are you most likely to find the ingredients for aromatherapy (example: doctors, drugstore) Thanks

Chloe Adisson answers:

You can technically make your own essential oils, but I would advise buying them from suppliers, especially when first getting into aromatherapy. Unless you have acres and acres of each particular flower/tree/fruit that you want to harvest (and there are hundreds of oils used in aromatherapy) you won’t get much oil. For example, it takes about 7 and a half tonnes of the Melissa flower to make one pound of the oil, not to mention you have to make sure the crops don’t get eaten by pests and hurt my nature and also you will have some years where harvests just suck. I haven’t read about creating your own carrier oils, but I imagine the process would be very painstakingly similar.

The general guideline is to never use aromatherapy on pets. Essential oils are so concentrated that they are used in very limited amount on humans (a couple of drops when applied topically), and the reason we can stand them is because our liver has the capability to process the oils out. Pets are generally much, much smaller and don’t have the capability. On amazon.com, I saw a review for an aromatherapy book that had a section for usage on animals. A reviewer complained that after using the remedy on her cat, the animal died. For humans, most aromatherapy oils can be used, but they should never be ingested by someone who has not run the idea by their doctor. Eucalyptus, for example, is great when used diluted on the skin, but toxic when taken internally.

You will generally find essential oils and carrier oils in most health food kind of stores. However, I would refrain from buying from these places as their oils are not always 100% pure- they can be diluted with carrier oils and sold as pure, or in case of expensive oils they can be diluted by a cheaper essential oil which smells similar. There are many good retailers online, so check them out. Also, I find hydrolats are easier to find online as well, since they’re not very popular with people who are not familiar with aromatherapy.

David asks…

I am looking for a ‘recipe’ of a nice back rub using aromatherapy?

I have ongoing back and side pain, and having been using ‘Deep Heat’ to help with it. I have been diagnosed as having Costocondiritis but am not exactly sure that this is correct, as I don’t have all the symptoms.
While the ‘Deep Heat’ has been fairly good, I would prefer a more natural method. Also I am unable to use any aromatherapy oils which can interfer with conception or pregnancy.
Thanks.

Chloe Adisson answers:

Try this one -
10 drops lavender
5 drops cajeput
5 drops lemon
in 50ml sweet almond oil

Aloe Vera Gel For Acne Questions Answered

Share

William asks…

gel for acne?

I have been recommended to use aloe vera gel to treat my acne. I’ve decided to find out how to use aloe vera gel for my acne and the results of it before buying aloe vera gel. Have anyone tried using aloe vera gel to treat her acne? Can you please share with me how you applied the aloe vera gel? Do you wash it off in the morning after you apply it at night or do you have other ways of applying it? Thanks! :D

:

6 things must be done EVERYDAY to reduce/prevent acne: 1)Wash, Tone, Moisturize Face 2 or 3 Times 2)Don’t Let Dirty Things Touch Face 3)Eat Healthy Food, Limit Junk Food 4)Take Multi Vitamin Mineral 5)Drink About 64 oz Pure Water 6)Do 20 to 30 Min Aerobic Exercise. Doing 1 or a few of these will NOT keep skin clear as possible!

Use 3 things on face: Wash, Toner, Moisturizer. Do this at least 2x a day, morning & night (possibly 3rd time, midday, if super oily/sweating). Products that work for one person may not work for another person, so always do small patch test on face for a couple of days to see how skin will react to product! Don’t quickly jump from product to product! Give skin a break before trying new product to prevent irritation! Natural & gentle products are sometimes more effective than acne medicine!

NATURAL & GENTLE: Wash face with warm water & Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar by Johnson & Johnson. Tone face with Witch Hazel (Thayers or Dickinson’s) or Homemade Toner. Witch Hazel reduces bacteria/swelling, minimizes pores, helps acne. Make toner by mixing 1 part With The Mother (Try Bragg) with 5 parts pure water. Test small area! If burns/to drying, use more water! Use at least 1 part water! Less Water = Stronger, More Drying Formula. This vinegar kills bacteria, absorbs excess oil, dries out pimples, lightens scars, refines skin tone. Don’t use other types of vinegar, will not work! Moisturize face with Lily Of The Desert Aloe Vera Gelly, its 99% organic, contains vitamin A, C, E! Aloe vera helps renew skin cells, heals blemishes/scars. Don’t use other brands of aloe, has very little aloe & to much junk in it which can irritate skin!

ACNE MEDICINE: Try 1 of these active ingredients for a period of time to see if skin improves: Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Sulfur, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid. Try acids by Perfect Peel Solutions, Cellbone Technology, Skin Laboratory, Alpha Hydrox/Neoteric Cosmetics. Acid heals acne, cyst, scars! If over the counter stuff doesn’t work, see doctor to get stronger medicine.

FACE PRODUCTS & MAKEUP: Only use oil free products that won’t clog pores & cause acne! Try Revlon ColorStay Combination/Oily Skin Foundation. Using a Makeup Setting Spray (Skindinavia, Model In A Bottle, Urban Decay, Sephora) will give you shine-free skin all day! Old makeup, makeup tools harbor bacteria, Use fresh makeup, wash/replace tools often! Wash makeup off face before going to bed!

FACE MASK can be done once a week. Make mask by mixing plain oatmeal with water. Oatmeal is soothing, absorbs excess oil, makes skin smoother. Wash face with warm water, apply mask. Leave on for 30 min. Rinse off with warm water, Apply toner & moisturizer.

HANDS-HAIR-STUFF: Keep dirt & bacteria at bay to prevent breakouts! Don’t touch face with hands, Don’t let phone nor dirty oily hair touch face, Don’t lean face on objects, Clean glasses often, Wash pillowcase, sheets, blanket, washcloth, towel often. Always wash hands before applying face products!

KEEP MOVING: Aerobic Exercise, Face Massage, Dry Skin Brushing increases circulation & delivery of nutrients to skin cells, encourages good blood supply, helps remove toxins, controls acne breakouts! Do 20to30 min of exercise, everyday or every other day! For outstanding results, do all 3 activities, everyday! When exercising, drink water & immediately take a shower to remove sweat & dirt! For face massage, wash hands & face, apply toner, use aloe vera as massage gel. Do 10 min massage before going to bed. Don’t wash face again, let aloe dry on face. Buy any book on face massage (Ten Minute Facelift by Jennie Harding). Dry Skin Brushing must be done correctly & carefully, read book, Dr. Berkowsky’s Vital Chi Skin Brushing System by Bruce Berkowsky! Never brush delicate face! Take shower after brushing to wash off dead skin & dirt!

& LIFESTYLE: Research has shown that there is a connection between certain kinds of food & acne! Read book The by Alan C. Logan & Valori Treloar! This book has detailed info on what to eat and not to eat to help reduce/prevent acne! Always eat healthy food – fruit, vegetables, lean meat, fiber, beans, wholegrains, foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids, zinc, vitamin A & C. Limit intake of frozen meals, dairy, milk, fat, oil, butter, greasy/fried foods, sugar, candy, salt, dessert, caffeine, coffee, pop, alcohol. Always avoid cigarettes, tobacco, illegal drugs! Its hard to get all needs, so take supplement everyday! Overdosing on vitamins minerals from food or supplements is dangerous! Drinking about 64 oz of pure water everyday improves skin quality, flushes out toxins, delivers nutrients to skin! You can also include 100% Fruit Juice as part of your daily total. Acne can be caused or aggravated by constipation, make sure bow movements are regular! Getting enough sleep helps skin repair itself!

Helen asks…

?

Ok so i bought a moisturizing aloe vera facial gel that’s 98% Aloe Vera. I have some acne that i’m currently using medication from the doctor for. I want to use the aloe vera gel to help get rid of some of the scars and as a moisturizer seeing how dry the medication makes my skin. I’m just wondering if it will cause anymore acne?

Chloe Adisson answers:

The aloe vera will just dry out ur skin and acne!

James asks…

for acne?

On the back of the bottle it say “aloe Vera gel cools and soothes minor skin irritations, abrasions, and sunburns. This blend of Aloe Vera Gel helps restore moisture to damaged skin and helps prevent drying and peeling. Great for softening and nourishing skin year round.” Can i use this for my acne? If i can how would? like how often and all that? on the front it just says ” Aloe Vera Gel, moisturizes and soothes dry, sun damaged skin” don’t no if that helps or not but please help!

Chloe Adisson answers:

It’s great for acne if you’re not allergic to it. Most people aren’t – it’s an ingredient in most products. If you’re allergic to onions, garlic, or tulips, that would be an indicator of an aloe vera allergy.
As for application, apply just enough so your skin feels moist, use morning and night as with any other moisturizer.

Sandra asks…

aloe vera gel for acne?

hey i have heard that aloe vera gel is great for acne but im not sure if i should buy the product or not.
does it reduce redness and marks? i have mild acne but does it make the acne worse? like more pimples?
thanks!

Chloe Adisson answers:

Don’t put it specifically on pimples. If you have one that you picked at and its dry and flaky, it seems to work pretty ok at helping that. Putting it directly on festering pimples would make them worse. Or it did for me, anyways.

Laura asks…

aloe Vera gel for acne/acne scars?

i just need a simple don’t tell me about some other product that works great all i want to know is does aloe vera gel work on acne and acne scars? and if a constantly use it will it lessen the amount of acne?
p.s i use the real plant gel

Chloe Adisson answers:

Aloe vera pulp is good for digestive organs & as well as it retains the moisture of the skin .If you are asking about prevention of acne by using it alone , My answer probably may be or not . Acne problem is due to hormonal imbalance & disturb immune system of the body.
Aloe vera alone can not can improve both of the above.
As you have restricted to answer more other than aloe vera.So I finish here.

Detoxify Or Die Questions Answered

Share

Betty asks…

What’s the deal with the weight questions?

It seems like everyone attacks dieting with lectures on anorexia and bulimia. I just read about someone wanting to reduce their caloric intake to between 300-400 calories a day and she only got one actual answer, the rest were comments “You’re going to die.” Granted, the question seemed extreme, and there was more desperation behind it than anything else…but if you consider the alternative…obesity is just as deadly. Atherosclerosis, Myocardial Infarction, Diabetes..and the list goes on and on. Overeating is just as serious, if not worse. Then, when you consider the countless websites that talk about “fasting” for 30 days on WATER ALONE for weight loss and body detoxification, how can you justify what’s healthy and what’s not? Starving yourself for thirty days is acceptable if you’re doing it to detoxify your body…but cutting your caloric intake down is anorexic? It was my understanding that your body had three sources of energy…glucose, glucagon, and fat. Once your body is starved of glucose and glucagon, it turns to its fat store, and you lose weight. EVENTUALLY, your body will eat away at its muscles, but not before the fat..Someone please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m not anorexic or bulimic, nor do I approve of such behaviors. I just see people seeking being shunned for it. I’m just trying to understand why.
I’m not looking for dieting advice either. I don’t have a weight problem.

:

Haha. You sound really really educated about this kind of stuff.

I think people are being criticiced for seeking advice because in my expierence with Yahoo Answers alot of the people are Underweight already and still they want to lose more weight. When you thing about it there are 11 and 12 year olds on this site wanting to know if the Master Cleanse or drinking grapefruit juice all day will help them lose weight.

And usually people are not shunned for asking for diet advice when they actually need it. Like if there overweight or obese, buy yeah that happens a lot. People tend to lecture people on stuff like that because it’s preventable. Just like obesity is, however there are more questions that pertain more to low weight.

Just my opinion :]
And yes, I agree with everything you said.

Donald asks…

Who would do this?

By Detoxing and Rejuvenating your Mind, Body and Spirit,

1. You allow yourself to heal from any toxins that have been held inside your body,
2. You allow your Mind to release any harsh feelings or Sad emotions,
3. You allow your Spirit to become open and free. Once you ahve Detoxified and Rejuvenated your Mind Body and Spirit,
4. You can finally Allow yourself to enjoy real Homeostasis.

(Homeostasis: Optimal Well being, Optimal Health, At a point in your life when all is ok, and righht with you Physically, Mentally, Emotionall, and Spiritually.)

Stress can make any disorder worse. May it be Mental Emotional or physical. Stress is when you worry way too much about things that can be fix with a little effort on your own personal part.
Stress has been proven to cause serious health risks, such as heart disease, Endurance , Fatigue, Emotional Imbalances, etc.
There are options to dealing stress and weight loss. Such as Detox plans and rejuvenation Plans, as the one I have enclosed.

I definitely stress that you consult your physician, about anything new or changes in your daily regimine. As this will affect other areas of your Daily living and Medications.

Please feel free to Copy and Print this to your own Blank Text and save it and print it out when you go to your DR again.

Chloe Adisson answers:

Good idea but…. I love to eat and coul not get past the water fast

Laura asks…

When did people start using the word “toxin” to refer to waste?

When I was in middle school, “toxin” meant something that could reliably be used by an animal, in small doses, to kill another animal. Or otherwise something that was fatal in small doses. “Toxic”, too, had an implied lethality.

Now, it means any substance that can cause discomfort. Also, when people talk about using diuretics such as tea to flush waste from the body, people say they are “detoxifying” and “flushing toxins” from their bodies.

The way other people use that word and the way I use the word are incompatible, since if there were enough toxins in your body for a cup of green tea to have a noticeable effect on their level, you would be long since dead and should probably be walled off so that other people don’t touch you and die as well.

So when exactly did this change?

Chloe Adisson answers:

At least in the UK, it seems to have started in the early 1990s.

I had a look in NewsBank (the UK and archive), and until around 1992 there were several dozen hits in papers a year, all using it in the trad scientific sense. Then over about a decade it creeps up to 2000+ hits, either using it to refer to general pollutants or (mostly) the fictitious poisons that “detoxifying” is alleged to remove.

Richard asks…

Wouldn’t it be great if a kind of penicillin for mental health were developed?

In physical health, before antibiotics, people with infections had to rely on their immune systems to fight certain diseases. Many times nature didn’t do such a good job, and people got really sick or died. But now that we have antibiotics, you just take a pill for a few days, and you’re totally cured. Modern medicine has done better than the body’s natural disease-fighting abilities.

In mental health, we’re not so advanced yet. People with “infections,” in the form of , suffer for years or lifetimes – depression, OCD, addictions, even suicide. The cures are still relatively primitive. Talk therapy can take a long time to resolve problems. Medications like antidepressants control the symptoms, but they don’t really cure the underlying emotional issues.

Wouldn’t it be great if someone developed a way to quickly detoxify the brain? I’ve imagined that if someone could study brain waves of what happens in therapy, and then stimulate the brain in the same way, maybe people could have quick and lasting relief from their emotional problems. Nowadays some doctors do use electroconvulsive therapy, but that’s sort of like hitting the reset button on a computer, and the problems can come back. I wish there was a more controlled, painless way to free people from painful emotional conditions for good.

Chloe Adisson answers:

Were working on it.

Jenny asks…

Should I start smoking pot again?

PLEASE READ BEFORE ANSWERING!

I’ll try to make it short and sweet. PLEASE HELP!

Any ways. I’ve always had problems socially. I never really fit in due to my awkward personality and horrible social graces. I just had a disposition people didn’t like as a young girl. Growing up I had friends but being so problematic we parted ways or we’d just stop talking. I started smoking pot when I was 15, roughly a month before my 16th birthday (I am 21 now) and at first it made me a giggling, happy, social butterfly and I enjoyed it alot. But later on it started making me paranoid and giving me anxiety and it made me think of death and just became a scary , unenjoyable thing. It made me paranoid about people and very self-conscious about how I looked. But for some reason I kept doing it. It came to a point where I could only smoke pot alone because around other people I couldn’t enjoy myself cause my anxiety would go out of control. Alone I didn’t get too anxious but I still felt some anxiety there. It gave me horrible anxiety, I’ve ALWAYS had anxiety, but I feel pot amplified it. The reason I would keep smoking pot is because I wanted it to be the way it was when I first started and I thought maybe I’m just going through a phase with it and eventually I’ll start enjoying it again, and once in a blue moon it would give me that good feeling so I was willing to roll the dice and smoke pot just to possibly get that feeling again….

Long story short. I am a loner with no social skills. I dont know where I went wrong to end up like that but I feel the pot didn’t help and got my anxiety out of whack.

I want to work on becoming social and less of a neurotic anxious freak. I quit smoking pot but i’m thinking, the weed already did its damage… What good will it do to stop now?

If I keep off weed will I detoxify? Will all those weird paranoid thoughts I have unravel and will my brain go back to normal?

Will quiting really help me become more “normal?”

Chloe Adisson answers:

Well, you shouldn’t smoke pot in the first place. It only gives you a false sense that you’re happy and okay and that your life isn’t like it really is. Quit smoking it. Maybe if you start joining more clubs and really, really, trying to socialize, you might feel it lot better. Good luck!

Detoxify Questions Answered

Share

Laura asks…

What is the best way to detoxify your body?

What is the best possible way to cleanse my body/clear the colon of toxins or to detoxify due to stressors, pollutants, toxins, and other such things?

:

Your own body is very efficient at doing this on it’s own. Detox diets, flushes and cleanses are scams, not without risks.

Lizzie asks…

What is the best way to detoxify your body at home?

What is the best possible way to cleanse my body/clear the colon of toxins or to detoxify due to stressors, pollutants, toxins, and other such things?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Anyone interested in detoxifying their body might think about paying a little more attention to their body and less attention to the people trying to get their money. The body already has nature’s most effective detoxification system. It’s called the liver. The liver changes the chemical structure of foreign compounds so they can be filtered out of the blood by the kidneys, which then excrete them in the urine.

Joseph asks…

How to detoxify your body from medications?

I took a medication called Clomipramine and I am getting lot of the side effects. And its making me really ill. I want to know how to detoxify my body so I can feel better. Symptoms are: nervousness, shakiness, nausea, perspiration, trouble sleeping, muscle twitching, and headaches.

Chloe Adisson answers:

Wow…medicines have an active life and I would suggest helping stay healthy by keeping hydrated and resting. Baths might help alleviate some of it. There are alternative medicine suggestions for detoxing like teas at health food stores that may help.

John asks…

How can i detoxify/decongest my liver naturally for clearer skin and overall well being?

I was told that if i detox/decongest my liver that i’ll have clearer skin because the skin is a major outlet of everything else that is going on in your body.Right now i’m doing a colon cleanse kit.I just started. Will this interfere with naturally cleansing my liver or can i continue to take them?So how can i naturally detoxify my liver for clearer skin and overall well being?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Thomas asks…

What is the best way for someone to detoxify their body of any drugs?

And how long does it take?
What is the quickest way to detoxify your body of any drugs?

Chloe Adisson answers:

To detoxify one’s body of drug use, it takes time. First, the drug use has to stop. Secondly, one has to wait until nature rids the body of remnants of the drugs in one’s system. Drink a lot of water to purify the body. Cranberry juice can also help cleanse the kidneys of infection.

Hcg Diet Protocol Questions Answered

Share

William asks…

Why am I gaining on the HCG (in Phase 2)?

I’ve successfully lost 29 lbs on phase 2 (40 day protocol) of the HCG diet and weighed myself last night only to find that i gained 1.8 lbs! This morning, I gained another 2 pounds! didn’t cheat at all and my period isn’t due for another week. Has anyone experienced weight gain a week before their period was due? That’s the only thing I could think of that could cause me to gain almost 2 pounds. This is very discouraging. I do the injections and I’ve been very strict about what I eat, not straying from the . Will not drinking enough water cause you to gain? I used a clean and clear mask on my face and also use Aveeno products. Has anyone experienced this or can offer help???

:

Its been 3 days now so you have prob gotten through your plateau. One thing that kills people is salt, it makes you retain a lot of water which can throw you off. Don’t worry about the small spikes, if you stay on the plan it is 100% water weight you are gaining, stick it out and you will be in for some BIG days after you shed the water. Keep Going!

Ruth asks…

HCG Diet Questions….Women may have answers?

I’m starting my 3rd week on the HCG Protocol. I called the company where I get my sublingual drops from and they said do not take the drops on your period. So I stopped when my period arrived, but my period has been way longer this time, longer than it ever is. I usually have it for 3-4 days and this has lasted a week now. Do I need to start taking the drops again? I know they say when you menstruate you should stop taking the drops due to immunity. But since my period has gone on so long, should I start the drops to get them back into my system? I have had a stall during my period, this past week I’ve only lost 3lbs, which is really frustrating. I am on the pill, would that have anything to do with it?? I’m kinda freaked out that it’s lasted this long!!

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!

Chloe Adisson answers:

Morgan, if you are taking homeopathic HCG drops, there is no reason for you to stop taking them while you are on your period. You should continue your drops right away.

Having a stall in losses during your period is normal. Frustrating, yes…but, nothing to be concerned with, the losses WILL continue.

It is also quite normal for you period to be a bit irregular while taking HCG. Again, this is nothing to be concerned with.

Continue taking your drops and following VLCD. Your losses will continue.

Laura asks…

500 calorie diet VS. HCG?

OK I am on the HCG 500 calorie diet and I love it. BUT I want to know why its unhealthy to only eat 500 calories YET on the HCG protocol its ok. IDK I am one week in and I have lost about 9 pounds. Now I am only 5 feet tall and well over 200lb. I have droped weight on other diets but always gain it back and more but with this I have really gotten motovated and I want this. But why do i hear negativity about the 500 yet the HCG is HUGE

Chloe Adisson answers:

A 500 calorie diet is dangerous because your body needs more than 500 calories to maintain itself for normal functions.

If you are a sedentary woman who weighs 200 lbs, then to maintain that weight you would need about 2400 calories a day. To lose weight safely you should eat less calories than that, but according to “Lose It For Life,” by Stephen Arterburn, M.Ed., and Dr. Linda Mintle, “you should NEVER go below 1,500 calories per day unless under the supervision of a doctor.”

Losing so much weight so quickly can actually hurt your body. I don’t know the difference between the two diets you mentioned, but you shouldn’t have to hurt your body to lose weight, and the safest way to lose weight is to do so slowly. Because you aren’t very tall and do weigh over 200 lbs, you will probably lose weight faster than someone like me, who is 6 inches taller and closer to 30 lbs overweight, because proportionally you have more to lose. That’s not my way of bragging, I’m just letting you know that you will probably lose weight pretty quickly at first on a healthy diet that your doctor approves. This will probably slow down after a while, and you’ll certainly need to add physical activity to the mix.

Sandy asks…

HCG makeup questions…?

Yes…I know I ask a million questions. I was wondering if anyone knows if L’oreal Voluminous Original mascara is ok on the hcg diet protocol. If not does anyone know of a mascara that IS ok. I would like to be able to get it at a store rather than ordering online. What about Nail Polish? Also, if a product says “oil free” does that mean it’s ok to use…or are there additional ingredients that I need to look for in it? Thanks, everybody, for your input. I really appreciate it!!

Chloe Adisson answers:

I looked up the ingredients in that mascara for you (link in sources) and there doesn’t appear to be anything in them that would potentially interfere with your HCG diet.

When looking at personal care products, starting with “oil free” products is a good start – but you need to go a bit deeper than that and actually look at the ingredients in the product. You want to avoid products with any type of oil/fat/lard in them as well as the following ingredients:

sorbitol, lanolin, petroleum jelly, propelyne glycol, petrolatum, and sodium lauryl sulfate.

To help you find personal care products, I’ve also put a link to a handy PDF that has several VLCD safe options for you.

Best of luck in your weight loss journey!

Betty asks…

Question about the HCG diet?

If you know what the protocol is all about, I am wondering why a person (after say, eating 200 calories worth of “cheat” or “bad” food)would gain 2 lbs.

If the plan is to eat 500 calories, and because the hcg DOESNT screw up your metabolism……….

how the heck could you gain just from 700 calories!? That’s still undereating! I’m so confused.

Please help if you know about the HCG diet.

I’m not following it, im just researching it.

Chloe Adisson answers:

Maybe the food that person ate was salty or sugary – both retain water in the tissues.

Forget HCG…
“500-calories per day is severely restrictive! In fact, it is not enough calories to support normal brain function. Your body will compensate by using stores of glycogen, protein (muscle) and some fat, which lowers your resting metabolism. Before you can lose true weight, you will be so irritable, lightheaded, and cranky that you’ll reach for whatever food you can get your hands on and have a field day.

There is no scientific evidence supporting HCG as a weight loss strategy. The FDA has required all marketing and advertising of HCG to state the following: “HCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or ‘normal’ distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.”

Hcg Diet Plan Questions Answered

Share

Thomas asks…

Do you have to eat exactly what is on the to lose ?

Do I have to eat exactly what it says to eat? Or can I just keep my calories at 500 a day eating other stuff?

:

All over the counter HCG products were announced as illegal and fraudulent by the FDA on January 24, 2011
Testing concluded that all over the counter oral and injection products on the market have little to no real HCG in them but most a synthetic derivative of the hormone.
Anyone that lost weight did it because they ate fewer calories than they burned.
The HCG acted as the placebo to help them lose the weight.
The only approved use for HCG is to increase fertility in both men and women.
The FDA will most likely allow the sell down of product and then put in a full blown ban with fines for failure to comply later in 2011. The FTC will most likely start fining companies for fraud and false advertising sooner.
Next year will mark 60 years since this fraudulent science was started.
You will put all the weight back on as soon as you stop the calorie deficit. The HCG is irrelevant.

Lizzie asks…

DR. A.T.W. SIMEONS,HCG ?

Just finished reading his article on the HCG diet and was wondering what is your opinion on it?
Is it just another fad diet plan or is it a real deal?

Chloe Adisson answers:

Actually i have a friend who is doing this. This is day 7 for her and she has lost 9lbs. The problem with this diet is there are a lot of fakes out there..like any other diet. You must be strict and serious about this diet to lose weight. What it does is get into the deep fat tissue that has been there for years and it feeds it to your body. That’s why you only need to eat 500 calories while you are taking the protocol. Your body makes up for the rest of the calories you aren’t actually consuming. I am going to try it as soon as she emails me info on buying. You do not need a prescription. You can go to a doctor for it but it costs way more than it should…if you’d like i can email you info on it when she sends me info…email me if you want more zumbrunjacqueline17@gmail.com

Mandy asks…

what foods are allowed on the hcg diet plan?

i want to try it dont really know how to cook :(

Chloe Adisson answers:

The HCG diet is a starvation diet, and throws hormones into the mix. It’s not safe. It’s not healthy. And it has little chance for long term success.

Instead, exercise, and eat healthy.

Betty asks…

What happens if you dont follow the diet plan for th HCG diet completely.?

Will you still loose some weight?

Chloe Adisson answers:

No, it’s the diet that leads to weight loss, HCG contributes nothing.
Stephen Barrett, a retired psychiatrist who operates quackwatch.org, says, “The bottom line is there is no reason to think the product works.”

Even experts in the supplement industry say the products aren’t legal and don’t work. Andrew Shao of the Council for Responsible Nutrition, an industry group, says HCG is “not considered a legal dietary ingredient and therefore cannot be sold as a dietary supplement. I am not aware of any scientific evidence that supports its use when taken orally.”

Because HCG is a peptide hormone, it would be broken down by the stomach and rendered ineffective, he says. He says the products are mostly sold over the Internet, so it’s difficult to track sales.

Susan asks…

what is meant by hcg diet plan?

what are the advantage of taking the diet? Does is reduces the fatness?. If it reduces fatness please explain.

Chloe Adisson answers:

A 500 calorie per day diet is considered anorexic. Mix it with a hormone from pregnant women’s urine and you get a miracle diet!
All over the counter hcg products were announced as illegal and fraudulent by the FDA on January 24, 2011. Testing concluded that all over the counter oral and injection products on the market have little to no real hcg in them but most a similar synthetic hormone. I was in GNC several months ago. They carry three brands of hcg drops and not one of them has any hcg in them. The salesman in fact agreed when I mentioned it. They contain “similar hormones” or amino acids. Sort of like I’m going to sell you this Toyota Prius but it is really a Ford Focus but we’re going to put a price tag on it that says it is a Toyota Prius. Excuse me?
Anyone that lost weight especially with the drops did it because they ate fewer calories than they burned. The hcg acted as the placebo to help them lose the weight.
Next year will mark 60 years since this fraudulent science was started.
The only approved use for hcg is to increase fertility in both men and women.
The doctors exploiting this benign hormone with the ability to prescribe injections can’t even agree on how it works. Some say it releases stored fat calories into the system. Others say it acts as an appetite suppressant. Neither explanation justifies the weight loss in the individuals taking the oral drops with NO hcg in them that still lost weight.
By the way, the expensive “clinical injections” are not covered by insurance since it is not FDA approved. What doctor wouldn’t want to get an “all cash” practice going?
Check out these clips before going further. Just aired a few months ago.

The bottom line here is the exploitation of the law allowing a MD to prescribe an approved drug for a use other than what it is approved for. The FDA will step in someday.

So the question is are you willing to risk your health based on testimonials, not research, and statements from doctors profiting in this all cash business?
