Aromatherapy Recipes Done Right

Downloading aromatherapy recipes is all well and good, but if you really want to learn how to make aromatherapy essential oils, you need to actually take a course. It is not as simple as just getting the right aromatherapy recipe and plugging in all of the ingredients. As with everything, there is a lot to learn to do the first time that you try out aromatherapy recipes.

To begin with, you have to know how the aromatherapy essential oil is supposed to smell. If you are making aromatherapy recipes that involve flowers, for example, this will determine when in the life cycle you should pick them. They will have a tart smell early on, and be overflowing with sweetness when they become ripe of over-ripe.

This can really change the effect that aromatherapy recipes have on the emotions, so you should do all that you can to learn the ins and outs before calling yourself an expert on them. The simple fact of the matter is that aromatherapy recipes must be carefully carried out by someone who actually knows what he or she is doing, or they will not work out quite right. And that can cause more harm than good.

Of course, if you are just using so-called aromatherapy recipes to extract essential oils, then go about it anyway that you wish, but do not go calling it aromatherapy. Essential oil recipes can be good for all kinds of things. You can use variations on aromatherapy recipes for basic fragrances to give you a nice scent, or even for skincare.

There are many botanical extracts that really have great healing powers, and you can take advantage of them by using aromatherapy recipes to mix them in particularly appealing ways. This can be a great way to get good scents and oils to use in a variety of applications. You should experiment and see what works for you.

It can be so rewarding to discover a new way of employing aromatherapy recipes to improve your health and beauty. I can not recommend trying these aromatherapy recipes out enough. It really can do a lot for you. In the first place, it can give you a new and rewarding hobby, but even beyond that, it can give you an opportunity to start to understand the full power of nature. And the power of nature is something that everyone should learn to understand.

Alternative Treatment for Pain Relief

One form of alternative treatment for pain relief that is becoming more and more popular is reflexology.  This natural method uses your feet to treat your whole body and is gentle and painless.

Reflexology can be used to achieve good health and balance or to alleviate symptoms from stress, migraines, infertility, back pain, arthritis and injury.  It is not a means to cure ailments but rather a  method to soothe and ease pain without the side effects of medications.  Reflexology as an alternative treatment for pain can speed the healing process and may be used alongside traditional medicine and medications.

The benefits of reflexology extend past simply relieving pain.  This alternative treatment for pain relief method of healing can also be used to achieve balance and health as well as to maintain good health.

If you are thinking of adding reflexology as an alternative treatment for pain relief, then you must take care when selecting your practitioner.  Since reflexology is becoming more and more popular, you should have plenty to pick from in your area.  Make sure the practitioner you choose has the appropriate qualifications and is someone that you feel comfortable with.  If you do not like your practitioner or they do not have a demeanor that is soothing to you, your sessions could be adversely affected.

Your first session will be mostly a learning session for the practitioner.  This is a time for them to get to know about you and your problems so that they can map out the best course of treatment.  This is actually the most important part of the therapy as learning about the patient is critical to choosing the treatment that will best suit your needs.  You will also receive your first reflexology session using your feet.  Plan an hour for each treatment.  Once the practitioner zeros in on where your pain is, they will be able to use your feet to treat your inner organs.

After the session, pay particular attention to how you react as this information is important feedback for your practitioner.   It is important that you report back your reactions so be sure to write them down and bring the paper to your next session.  Everyone responds differently to treatment, but most people report a feeling of total relaxation and well being.  Remember, the healing process is different for everyone and can take time so don't expect miracles on your first visit.

Reflexology is a great alternative treatment for pain relief or just maintaining your general well being.  It is totally natural, non invasive and has no adverse side effects. Why suffer needlessly from back pain, migraines or any other ailment when you could give reflexology a try?

Chinese Herbal Remedies VS Traditional Herbs

Would you choose chinese herbal remedies over traditional herbal product?  We all just hate getting sick? Regardless of how much we all dislike the colds, flu, and other annoying viruses that seem to come each and every winter, we always seem to get them. Even those of us who take precautions with a flu shot or some other form of deterrent, that darn sniffling and coughing always commence on schedule. Well, at least that's my experience anyway.

There must be a way around it all. You know, some hidden path that has not yet been discovered by the masses. A close friend of mine from Taiwan claims that Chinese herbal remedies are often better than American medicines. Who knows; maybe he's onto something. Are you willing to give Chinese herbal remedies a shot?

What do you currently know about Chinese herbal remedies?  Does the name Bi Yan Pian, Ping Chuan, or Gun Mao Ling ring a bell? Well these remedies are for cold and flu viruses.  Oh, no problem.  Although most American do not have a great depth and knowledge regarding Chinese herbal remedies, I have had an experience with Xiao Yao San for hormonal balance.  Which was very effective against my mood swings, bloating and menstrual cramps. 

Ever heard of Dit Da Jow?  Well, chances are, unless you're into Chinese martial arts, you probably haven't. Dit Da Jow is a liquid herbal remedy used to heal bruises and damaged tissue.  I used it rather frequently when I first began training in a Chinese martial art known as Wing Chun. The repetitive damage I received to my forearms during training rituals, called for some serious healing. A martial arts buddy of mine, who had been training for years, recommended Dit Da Jow.  Now, I'm not going to lie to you. In my humble opinion, this stuff stinks. However, it did remedy my bruising and promote healing.  Therefore, I do believe this stuff works. This along with other Chinese herbal remedies are often recommended in the martial arts circles.

Would you search for ancient Chinese herbal remedies to cure a headache? This is a funny question actually.  While watching a Tai Chi seminar a few years back, I spotted a student offering his teacher a massage to help remedy a headache his teacher complained of.  The old Chinese teacher grinned at him and said, "That sounds nice, but I think I'll just take some aspirin."  I could tell this shocked the student who had been fascinated by Chinese herbal remedies and massage therapy.  He thought they were better for some reason.  However, it's always best to use what truly works for you.

ADHD Alternative Treatment

I would like to share with you the ADHD alternative treatment methods I have learned about along the forty-year journey of hell and heaven, too. I am an ADHD expert to ONLY myself, to only my particular disorder, also known as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADD, Attention Deficit Disorder. So as I write, I do so from a place of 40 plus years of history of the disorder, of diagnosis in only the last four years, and of having self-medicated (with street drugs) and later having researched and engaged in therapy and medical treatment for my ADHD.

First, know that while street meth is not a legitimate ADHD alternative treatment, it is what one MD says clever of you to try. That is, many intelligent, proactive individuals who have ADHD but have not been diagnosed and are at their wits' end trying to "cure" themselves will do what is called self-medicating. So don't be ashamed or overly obsessed with the esteem issues that come with street drug use. Just get to a doctor or psychiatrist for diagnosis and understanding of the disorder.

Then, weigh the options available to you by reading whatever you can: read magazines, books, on- and offline articles. Find the works devoted strictly to ADHD and written by experts and professionals in the field, including the following (listed here in no particular order): David Sudderth, Joseph Kandel, Thom Hartmann, Sari Solden, Thomas Whiteman, Michelle Novotni, Kate Kelly, and Peggy Ramundo.

At this point you will have come across the "traditional" or most common treatments, such as psychotherapy and drug (Amphetamine, Ritalin, etc. Al.) therapy combined, and will have found some ADHD alternative treatments, as well. These include such alternatives as the following:

HOMEOPATHIC/NONTRADITIONAL MEDICINES

Some turn away from western medicine to such alternatives as acupressure�a healing technique that has been successfully applied for smoking habits, weight problems, anxiety disorders, fertility issues, and even HDHD symptoms. As of 1997, the Lincoln Hospital Recovery Center in Bronx, New York, for example, administers acupressure treatments to those with ADHD. They have had remarkable results: kids have been positively impacted in regards to their sleep and hyperactivity patterns, blood pressure and depression problems, studying and participating, working, and just sitting�calmly and without the "mind spinning" so familiar to those with ADHD.

ENERGY HEALING

Reiki and Therapeutic Touch, for instance, are energy healing approaches that work on the premise that the human being is a dynamic being, connected by physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional components. Energy healing methods seek to balance these components, so in the person with ADHD, the symmetry that results is said to be calming�slowing the activity down so the person can focus, is less anxious, and is less intrusive and defiant.


DIETARY CHANGES

A close investigation of foods that are or contain allergens and irritants to the nervous system has revealed the possibility of ADDers being especially negatively impacted. ADD treatments in this area include eliminating or curbing intake of white flour, sugar, and/or additives/preservatives. But the controversy still roars on this one, and FDA and other regulatory bodies have not acknowledged the veracity of gross dietary changes yet.

NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS

Much attention has been paid to holistic treatment, other ADHD alternative treatment, and vitamin therapies. And many vitamin sources claim to help alleviate such symptoms as inability to focus, edginess, and sleep problems. But as with any ingesting therapies, inappropriate application can lead to damaging results on other parts of the body and brain. So what most specialists will acknowledge as important is nutritional balance, antioxidant vitamin supplements (A, E, for example), and/or a multi-vitamin�though as with many alternatives they will not attest to any remarkable cures or absolute recovery, which has yet to be proved, documented, and announced for now, anyway.
