Q&A: Is Essential oil for burning different than other essential oils?

Share

Question by : Is oil for other ?
I have this that I use on my oil burner. It says on its bottle: “not for consumption.”
Are other types of that are for consumption? Like applying to skin?

Are there different types of essential oils?

Best answer:

Answer by nvrgiveuponyou
Hello,

There definitely are different types of essential oils. I know of one
brand that is the best in the world. If you see a brand that says not
to use internally then you should also not be putting it on you because
the skin absorbs what is put on it and that will go directly into the
blood stream. If you want to know the brand I recommend you can
contact me. Have a great day!

Can all aromatherapy oils be used in all the different techniques?

Share

Question by -ouu-id-tap-dat-: Can all be in all the ?
I am aware that some techniques are for some problems but are all oils suitable for inhalation, diffusion, compresses, baths, etc?

Best answer:

Answer by Emma
Aromatherapy uses extracted from nature’s herbs and flowers. The aroma is inhaled, or applied to the skin, and each of the oils (or combination thereof) addresses a specific disorder. It appears that the body is able to utilize the healing properties of the oils through the olfactory system of the body, and so initiate the healing process. Aromatherapy practitioners would also have an understanding of the psychological and emotional factors of illness.

Does anybody wear aromatherapy oils as perfume?

Share

Question by the boleyn girl: Does anybody wear oils as ?
I usually wear DKNY be delicious but I want to try something more natural and cheaper. im also prone to getting and stress. Does anyone know what are aromatherapy oils for this? i have heard that ylang ylang and lavender can be /? any experience or advice greatly appreciated! cheers
Also does anyone know if the scent from wearing these lasts as long as commercial perfume?

Best answer:

Answer by Valstupendo
OMG… YES… I all the time instead of perfume (I’m allergic to perfume). I use lavendar all the time because I personally like the of it, but make sure you dilute them with a carrier oil such as jojoba first otherwise it may irritate your skin. You can pretty much try any kind or combination you like, but it doesn’t last longer perfume, sorry.
I have lavendar for headaches, as well as orange, peppermint and sandalwood… they work for me (just depends if it’s daytime or nightime… lavendar is relaxing so if my headache is at night, it will use that, or peppermint if it’s day because it’s uplifting).
I hope some of this helps.

Can you use aromatherapy oils for your skin/face?

Share

Question by Danielle P: Can you use aromatherapy for your ?
This is the product description: This blend is already pre-diluted and ready for aromatherapy use. The ingredients are pure oils.

Best answer:

Answer by Essence of Wellbeing
Based on the information you have provided it difficult to make an informed decision, as there is no information re the oils in the blend or the percentage make up. – but one of the basics rules of aromatherapy is that sometimes referred to as is that they must be diluted to be applied to the skin.

In saying that making your own massage oil\body oil can be a wonderful way of using essential oils, to moisturise and protect your skin in a similar way to a body lotion.

If you are looking to make your own massage\body oil you may find this information of assistance

When making your oil you will need -
· A bottle to make and store your completed oil
· Carrier oil or oils
· or oils

Your bottle should ideally be made of glass. You can have a plain cap or some people like to use a pump top for ease in dispensing.

When choosing your carrier oils bear in mind the properties of the oils and your skin type (or the skin type of the person you are making it for). To start with I usually recommend using a plain grapeseed or sweet almond oil. As you experiment you may like to use a combination of vegetables and infused oils to enrich your basic oil blend.

When choosing your essential oils, consider the effect you want the oil to have and when you intend to use it. Are you planning on a light fresh aroma to use as a body oil after your morning shower? An invigorating oil to massage into muscles before or after sport?

To make your oil blend, take your bottle and place in it up to 4 drops of essential oil for every 10ml of carrier oil you will be using. So in a 50ml bottle use up to 20 drops in total of essential oil, in a 100ml bottle use up to 40 drops. For a massage oil for children or anyone whose health is frail or who has sensitive skin, halve this number. Remember you can use 2 or 3 in your blend but the total number of drops should together not exceed that stated.
Top up your bottle with your chosen carrier oil to the shoulder – this is the part where the bottle just begins to narrow. Put on the cap and shake gently or tip the bottle back and forth to mix the oils together.

And don’t forget to label your creation! Information to note includes the date, the name of the person the oil is for and the purpose of the oil, together with the ingredients. This way you can easily reproduce your blend.

Some recipes to get you started -

End of the Day De-stress Massage\Body Oil
100ml Sweet Almond Oil
15 drops
5 drops Sandalwood Essential Oil
20 drops Bergamot Essential Oil

Wake Me Up Body Oil
100ml Grapeseed Oil
20 drops Grapefruit Essential Oil
10 drops Petitgrain Essential Oil
5 drops Spearmint Essential Oil
