Things To Look For When Shopping For An Aromatherapy Kit
Background
The term aromatherapy started gaining popularity around the 20th century, however the practice has existed long before that time. The first cultures to develop an affinity for the practice were the Egyptians and Chinese, who developed a vast understanding of the different functions of each essential oil and scent. While many people assume that aromatherapy is relatively “new age”, the knowledge has existed for thousands of years.
Keys to Choosing a Good Kit
Aromatherapy has gained popularity in recent years, which has led to saturation of aromatherapy kits on the market. While some are quite good and beneficial, there are also a number of cheap and poor quality kits, which you should avoid. The first and most important determining factor of an aromatherapy kit is the price. If it’s really inexpensive for a large set, than chances are there isn’t much of the pure ingredient in the kit. While you don’t necessarily have to purchase the most expensive aromatherapy kit, you should aim to spend somewhere in the middle.
The most effective way of determining the quality of a kit is checking the ingredients on the backside of the bottles to see how many additives are present and how much of the essential oil is included in each container. Some bottles also contain information on the date of when the bottle was manufactured. This is important as the older the oil is, the less effective it gets. In some cases, individuals have bought inexpensive bottles that have a peculiar smell, which isn’t normal. You should buy essential oils in glass bottles, as these oils often dissolve plastic bottles and reduce the quality of the oil.
