The Effect of Fragrance on Human Body
Smell, or simply, the ability to distinguish smells, plays an important role in human life. Since immemorial times, people have used sense in a variety of purposes. The effect of fragrant on the human psyche
Aromatherapy uses essential oils of different scents for each case. A number of plants, the fragrance of which has a stimulating effect on the nervous system. These flavors are preferably used in the morning and during the day, to improve the tone and performance. These plants include: coffee, cloves, nutmeg, black pepper, mountain ash, currant, bay laurel.
Other plants in contrast, have a calming effect, it is better to breathe before bedtime. Among these plants are: lavender, lemon, orange, mandarin orange, valerian, rose and tansy.
In addition, there are so-called adaptogens-smells. Their effects on the body, depending on its condition, they have a different character. If loss of strength and fatigue, they can give a person courage, and nervous excitement – on the contrary has a calming effect. By aromatic adaptogens include garlic and peppermint.
Some of the essential oils are able to exert its stimulating effect on certain bodily functions. Thus, the scent of bergamot enhances the twilight vision; in addition, it contributes to a better perception of the green and dulls the perception of red in the daytime. Similar effects have smells of roses and geraniums.
