Basil Essential Oil – The History
Needless to say, anything has its own history and background. How did it started and where they come from. More often than not, we tend to think it’s the same way around. But each thing has their own unique story. Particularly with essential oils in town, ages ago and nowadays they are useful in many ways. We may change generation, people come and go, things change fast but essential oils remain useful and more often, helpful to us. Basil essential oil has its own story.
It has been used by ancient Greeks ages ago as part of their bath routines as well as their body massage practices, its aroma captivated them and they stay loyal to this oil. And on the other hand, Egyptians use this as their offering to their Gods and uses it to embalmation of bodies with myrrh and incense. And in India, they believed that it protects the soul and is very sacred to their Gods.
The basil plant grows abundantly in Africa. And somehow, popular to Europe as culinary herb. The plant can grow of up to 3 feet high and with white flowers. This oil is carefully extracted from the fresh leaves. And though is originally found in Asia, this has been a part of the Ayurdevic medicine and was used in treatment for malaria, animal bites such as snake bites and dog bites and fever. It was once famous for its own way of treating depression and other personality difficulties. And due to its history that features its usefulness, no wonder that it is known up to today.
It is indeed very useful to us, it works us our emotional uplifter and rejuvenates us in such a way that we cannot resist anymore, and we continually seek for it. This instills refreshments in our mind and body, promotes happy feeling and relaxes our body and mind to reach our goal of having a more tranquilized lifestyle. It is therefore recommended to use after a stressful day at work or even at school but not recommended for young children though.
On an instant use of it, you can feel and sense the immediate results of it. We may tend to be more extra careful due to some oils that has danger effects on us. But this basil essential oil, when in use properly, there would be no problem. Just try it and see the results.
