Aromatherapy for Fighting Wrinkles – More Essential Oils To Smooth Your Skin
Aromatherapy can be terrific when it comes to rejuvenating your aging skin. So if you are spending a fortune on all sorts of chemicals and maybe even expensive procedures performed by your plastic surgeon, you may want to give these alternative treatments a try.
Aromatherapy won’t just help smoothen wrinkling skin and bring back some elasticity, but it can also help with a number of skin conditions that become ever more common with age.
Among those are dry skin, itchy skin, eczema, as well as inflammations and other irritations of various kinds. You use aromatherapy by mixing essential oils into a carrier oil, generally a mix of jojoba oil and sweet almond oil, and then applying the mixture to clean skin at night.
In the first part of this article, I suggested to use carrot seed, frankincense, elemi, and neroli essential oils. Here are some more oils you might want to try:
Lavender has a soothing and relaxing effect. And since stress is a profound contributor to the aging of the skin, anything that will make you calmer and more relaxed is going to help. In addition, lavender also has a reputation on helping rejuvenate aging skin in its own right.
Myrrh
Myrrh has been used for many centuries and even millennia as a perfume as well as for its beneficial effects on the skin. You’ll find it used in creams and other skin health preparations for its skin healing properties.
A particularly good combination for rejuvenating aging skin is to mix 3 drops of myrrh, Frankincense, and Lavender with a tablespoon each of Jojoba and Sweet Almond oil. Then apply that mixture to clean skin at bedtime.
This mixture is also very helpful for inflamed or otherwise irritated skin. You can use it for chapped and cracked skin as well.
Patchouli
Patchouli is especially good for healing a variety of skin conditions, from cracked skin to dry or itchy patches, scars and inflammations. It can even help with toenail fungus! So if you are suffering from any of those conditions, consider adding some patchouli to the mix.
Pomegranate Seed
We’re just discovering the healing powers of Pomegranate, so it’s not surprising to find that it also has its use as an aromatherapy oil. It provides an excellent defense against aging of the skin, and it is also very helpful for skin irritations and dry and itchy skin.
And to make the aromatherapy treatments even more powerful, consider combining them with EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).
