Magic Of Bathing

A good bath has magic to comfort both body and soul. It cleanses our skin of pollutants both chemical and emotional that have attached themselves during the day. After a hard day, a bath refreshes and soothes us as nothing else can.

As with jazz, some like it hot, and some like it cool. Each kind of bath helps us in different ways. The discomforts of over exertion to the common cold are eased by a nice hot bath. Don’t let your skin dry out, though. A squirt of baby oil or another oil of your choice, such as vitamin E, into the bath will protect your skin and leave it feeling smooth.

Skin problems love a cool bath. Add a handful of baking soda while running a cool bath, and the pain and heat of a sunburn will be soothed. Poison oak and other rashes can be treated this same way. The discomforts of hot summer weather can be minimized with a cool bath.

Moisturize your skin after each bath with a cream or lotion that corresponds to your skin type. Choose cream for oily, dry, or normal skin. Before you buy, read the ingredients list on the label. If it contains long, chemical names you can’t pronounce or has artificial coloring or scent, pass it by. Find a cream with ingredients you recognize, and that doesn’t test the product on animals. That’s good karma for your skin.

Do the same buying soap and shampoo. Natural ingredients are always best; stay away from chemicals and animal products. Everyone except those with extremely oily hair can shampoo once with the amount of shampoo equaling the size of a quarter. Rinse thoroughly until your hair squeaks when you run your fingers through it. Truly clean hair looks great; shiny and bouncy. Use quality, natural bath and hair products and your skin and hair will respond by looking better than ever.
