Feeling Great In Your Skin
Using Herbal remedies are a great way to get rid of oily skin which keeps your skin healthy and free from skin diseases. Some herbal remedies will include Jojoba oil which forms a non-greasy lipoid in the skin which results in softer skin. This is typically used to get rid of fine lines and skin roughness. It strengthens skin and massages this oil into your skin every day will help keep it hydrated and healthy.
The skin is made up of two layers: the epidermis and the dermis. Epidermis is the outer layer of the skin it protects the body from any foreign objects in the environment. The skin is at its thinnest in the eyelids and thickest on the palms and soles. The second layer is the Dermis located between the epidermis and subcutaneous tissues. Dermis is made up of collagen, elastic fibers and extra-fibrillar matrix.
When people have an overactive thyroid, hormones that are produced by the thyroid are shut down hence increasing production of sebum. The best way to prevent this is to maintain a normal secretion of the thyroid hormones. There are prescription medicines available to cure such deficiency although there are natural ways too to treat Hyperthyroidism as well. Here are some of the natural or herbal remedies available to treat such condition.
A yarrow, nettle, and buttermilk facial is an older medicinal herb used for keeping skin healthy. A combination of these three ingredients is made of a powerful astringent which helps keep skin hydrated just enough without causing dryness. In addition to these, there are many facial masks and scrubs that can be used as well. Almond and honey facial scrubs are an excellent gentle facial scrub. It gently removes dead skin cells and oils from the skin. Using a warm washcloth gently rub the paste of ground almonds and honey on the face in a circular motion. Using minimal pressure will give you the desirable results that you need using this combination of a facial cleanser.
Buckwheat, black beans and whole rice are good source of iron which helps revitalize the skin. Insufficient supply of Vitamin B2 can trigger oily skin so always add the following to your diet; whole grains, nuts, and beans which are rich in Vitamin B2.
Drink plenty of liquids to keep the skin from drying up and to help cleanse the body from toxins. Decrease the amount of oil in your food, so avoid pork, fried foods and spicy foods. Avoid at all cost all animal oils or heat processed oils.
Changing your diet is the most essential thing you can do to keep your skin healthy. Cut out all foods high in fat and oil which would include junk food, alcohol, and caffeine. Drink eight glasses of water per day, preferably drinking a half of glass of water every hour and two glasses of water or more after each meal. Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetable as much as possible and most of all sleep at least eight hours a day. You will see how your skin changes and how it glows with health.

I can say from experience that Neutrogena products have worked great for me-even when proactive didn't. Everyone is a little different, and what works great for some won't work great for everyone, that is why there is so many different products out there. Why not give the clean and clear system a try, esp since the spot treatment is doing well for you?
After I got my acne under control (or grew out of it, or maybe it was the birth control hormones? I don't know what stopped it altogether but acne meds helped) I turned to neutrogenas healthy skin face lotions, the ones with the alpha hydroxy acid in it. It helps fade those marks on your face left by acne–not pockmarks, but the other little marks you have left behind if you liked to pick at them like I used to lol. Neutrogenas lotions are light and easy to use everyday and although it is very gradual it helped even out my skin a lot and fade those old scars!
