While everyone has to age, some do it far more gracefully than others. For anyone who wants to be lovely as she gets older, there are some skin care tips that might help.

Sunlight can really damage skin. It’s very important to ward off the UV rays that can damage you. For many, this has to start early in life, since sun damage sustained as a child can affect adult skin.

Look for sunscreen with a fairly strong SPF. Most women find that 45 is a good place to start. You should also avoid tanning beds for the same reason. The extra UV rays often cause skin to wrinkle prematurely and can cause sun spots to form on the hands and face, as well as anywhere else that has been exposed to the sun.

Using a moisturizing lotion might not be the first thing a young person thinks of, but this habit could end up being a major boon later in life. Keeping skin well moisturized means softer, smoother skin in the future. There are plenty of different types of lotions available, so you can pick and choose the best one for you.

It’s also a good plan to cleanse the skin regularly with a cleanser or even just plain soap. Looking after skin at an early age will help ensure that it looks great later in life. Just be sure to get off the grit and grime that causes pimples. These can cause scars which will last a lifetime.

Be careful with makeup, since it can clog skin and cause outbreaks of zits. The face needs to breathe and so you’ll be better off making sure that you have something light. Powder is usually a better choice than paste-like makeup or even that which is in liquid form. Skip the blemishes and make sure your face is able to get some fresh air.

You’ll find thousands of skin care products on the market. Not only are many of them not necessary, the majority shouldn’t even be used. Chances are your skin looks great without too much makeup, so ease up on that and be careful not to overload yourself with products. A cleanser and a moisturizer are the basics that you can use.

While your makeup and products are important, diet is going to play an even bigger part in skin health. Eat lots of fresh veggies and fruit. These are chock full of minerals and vitamins that keep skin nourished. Even more important than this, however, is water.

If you drink enough water to stay hydrated, your skin will glow and be softer. Skip the water and opt for sodas and you’ll see the results in poor skin health. Our bodies require plenty of water to flush toxins, hydrate cells and keep everything functioning properly. Without this, the entire body, not just skin, will suffer.

All of these tips on skin care can help you look hot even when aging. The best way to use them is to start as young as possible. Even if you are already older, caring for your skin is good, but starting now is better than never.
