Facts That You Should Know When You Are Pricing Insurance Plans
If you are in the market for health insurance, specific facts about you will determine the health insurance quotes you will receive. Are you in good health? Do you exercise regularly and take care to practice preventive medicine whenever possible? Where do you live and what do you do for a living? What are your hobbies? Do you have a family history of good health? Have you had any major illnesses in the past? Do you have any signs of future problems, such as high cholesterol or high blood pressure? Yes, all of these factors and some others combine to determine the health insurance rates you will be quoted.
While searching for a new medical plan, there are a few avenues that you can utilize. First, there is the internet, where you can find many sites that will provide you with comparison policies and quotes from various companies. Then there is always the option to contact the insurance companies, face to face or on the phone, and obtain your quotes. Speaking to an actual person is a great idea, especially if you have questions regarding the policies that are provided to you.
Some applicants are just more comfortable speaking with an individual. Many people choose to visit with an insurance agent or broker in person to obtain information regarding a new health insurance policy. Personal conversations often make applicants more comfortable because they like dealing on a one-to-one basis and feel that they have the person’s individual attention. Of course, this provides the opportunity to discuss various options available with a variety of policies and to review your specific needs. An insurance professional is the best person to advise you of the type of policy most likely to suit you.
It is important that you let your agent or broker aware of your requirements from a medical insurance plan. Whether you are looking for the cheapest plan available or a plan that is similar to the one you currently have, your agent or broken needs to know so that they can search for the most suitable plan. Once you have a few plans that you are looking into, it will then be time to obtain quotes for each of these medical insurance policies.
When you are comparing your insurance quotes you want to make sure that they also have similar coverage. One plan may be cheaper, however it will cover less than another, costing you more money in the long haul. Carefully look into what coverage is being provided and you will be able to make a decision on a policy that is perfect for your medical needs, and the needs of your family,

In a world of corperate greed Wal-Mart had hit a new low. I thought the reason for insurance was to plan and protect for the un-expected. By going after the family after a pittance of a judgement Wal-Mart was subverting the basic purpose of insurance. I am glad they finally came to their senses but it should never have been an issue to start with.

Solve algebraically…
To find out how much it would cost Giselle under both plans, set up an equation…let X be medical expenses…
Plan A =
$100 + .25(X-100)
Plan B =
$125 + .20(X – 125)
Now set them equal to find out what the break even point is
$100 + .25(X – 100) = 125 + .2(X – 125)
100 + .25X – 25 = 125 + .2X – 25
75 + .25X = 100 + .2X
.05X = 25
X = 25/.05
X = 500
Now solve for 501 and 499
100 + .25(401) = 200.25 (plan A)
125 + .2(376) = 200.2
So, expenses over $500 saves money under Plan B
(At 499.99 and under,Plan A saves money)
